I don't know why people think these things are such scams. This is how these programs work. when you sign up for www.************* and they tell you to sign up for a promotional offer with a company. Now these companies (freeipod.com uses blockbuster, AOL, reputable companies) pay www.************* for sending people to them to do the promotions. www.************* uses this referal reward money they recieve from companies like aol and blockbuster to buy the ipods and other things they have going (flat screens and such).

I remember some years ago, there was a company that let you install a small program, giving you a banner on every website in your browser, and the more minutes you made with that banner activated, the more money the sent you  That really worked too..

This is a perfect example of another type of program everyone thought was a scam. and the fact is, It _wasn't_. Advertisers pay tv channels to show ads during tv shows, and this program worked the same way. they paid these companies (that ran the ad software) to display their ads on your computer while you were actively surfing. I used these programs and prolly got $60+ from just having a bar on the botton of my screen. I ignored it and got payed to. These types of ad software was hella popular in the late 90's but died out, there might be a few still around but non that I'm aware of.

I ran another thing where people would sign up their emails to get emails about cooking or jokes or what ever. I would get like $.30 per sign up, and I got enough to buy a paintball gun and gear.

I honestly Don't know why people think things like www.************* is a scam. Just learn how advertising works.

I remember someone I knew in Junior High used to use that Ad software...it wasn't decent, he just had to keep it open and he got paid for it...

I think he had to move his mouse every so often so he couldn't just leave it on all day and not be there though...I think...

I would definetly be up for a free 15" LCD TV, or Sony 27" Flat Screen TV...but I don't live in the US.

What's this?

http://www.afextz.com/bossage/ipod/20gig2-3.jpg

It's a 20 gb iPod, but the buttons are on the wheel? I haven't seen one of these before.

Hmm, after going to www.ipod.com , I see now....it's the new version...I noticed they don't even make the 15 GB version I have anymore. Just Mini, 20 GB and 40 GB

What's the main difference between the new ones and mine? I just got mine a couple of months ago.

Damn, these ones seem better, the battery life is 12+ Hours ? That is way longer than mine.

Also I think i'm gonna back down from trying to get a free ipod due to the credit card thing.I don't understand why they need one...

you get an internet cookie

/me hands Tr0n an internet cookie

and you only give your CC number to the company whose offer you are using (IE: AOL, Columbia DVD House, BMG Music) so they can bill you after the trial period, just cancel before the trial period ends and after you've recieved credit on ************* and your set! i personally did AOL and cancelled fine!

If I had 5 clones of myself I'd do this

they check IP addresses... so you'd have to go to 5 different internet connections
