Or if its listed in the normal add/remove list, remove it there :)

Or...simply delete the messenger folder hehe ;)

Select "Start"
Choose "Control Panel"
Choose "Administrative Tools"
note in Windows XP Home edition, Admistrative Tools is in Performance and Maintence
Choose "Services"
Right-click on "Messenger"
Select "Stop"
To permanently disable Messenger:
Right click "Messenger"
Select "Properties"
Change "Startup Type" to "Disabled" and click "OK"

why in god's name did you install SP2?
sp2 is actually damn good on most of the PC's that it doesnt throw a fit on.

well thats good. I don't wanna take that risk. If i ever do get it if they dont' fix it somehow I'll most definitely save comp settings so I can roll back if it forks me.

to uninstall windows messenger
start then click run type this:
"RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove"

without "

it will then ask to uninstall the old vision.
