Replacing Half-Life 2 music

Can in be done? How?

I know you can just use another media player in the background and all but is there a way to replace the original music? I've been searching and nobody seems to know how.

I'd really like to try it so if anyone can help.

I dont know if you can, but gfcscape suposed to open gfc files... I'd image if you could replicate it's internal file structure, only using a custom mp3 with the same name as the music within... that it might work.

It worked with quake 3,
