ok, voted. But bright identifying colours - maybe criminals would make a bright identifier on their real guns?

Exactly. Thats why we need to have no visual restrictions in place atall. That way there will be not uncertainty about whether a firearm should be considered real or not by the police and anyone stupid enough to go around with them on display in public gets the 5 years minimum they should (in recent cases judges have been far too leanent) or a chest full of 9mm.

I know it sounds harsh, but as a resposible airsofter who is looking down the barrel of a gun about to deliver the death of his sport in the UK I believe that we need much tougher enforcement of our current and perfectly adiquate laws we already have in place. Not new ones.

I airsoft with me realistic looking m16A2. Cops have been called a few times but so far none really made a big deal except for the ones who had their 9mms at our faces. But some cops will be dick like that.

You didn't airsoft in a public place did you? :|

You're always supposed to notify the police if you're playing around with replica airsoft weapons/paintball weapons in areas that are not specifically designated as zones for that sort of thing.

You dumb ****. What if they shot you?

Besides, my gun is the most beautiful. SIG-552 Commando.

Lol it was at my friends house, so after they realized we were just airsofting they said it was ok but that its not the smartest idea since they could have shot us. Reason they were called is because my friend decided to go on the roof with his gun and some lady called saying there was a terrorist on top of a house and thought we had some gang going on. We did have a good stache of weapons too. It turned out all good though.

I have got called on when we were playing in public places that were down in a wetlands. Actually I think its private y owned by someone but I dont know. But whenever cops are called they just tell us to leave and on e time they said we couldnt go back but we do anyway. lol on the popos

Orange tip, notification of police during gatherings. If a kid scrapes it off and screws around at school and gets himself shot, then evolution is working like it should. Sure a criminal could paint his guns tip orange, but the second he tries to do anything with it he is in trouble. And besides criminals will always find a way around things, laws are to protect law abiding citizens and an orange tip on replicas would do just that. With gun crime so low, this wouldn't have a real effect anyway. Would just make airsoft players mad and emotional mothers happy...for a month or so.

I've always been a tinkerer and love messing around with everything from rockets to engines. So no surprise that I've messed around with weapons, particularly potatoe guns. They're built out of PVC pipe, duct tape, and glue (other things are added to taste). When fired they sound like the worlds most powerful bongo drum. :smoking:

One particular incident had me a few friends fooling with one rather modest one, and a really idiot neighbor mistook the odd (and loud) *bonk* sounds they heard for a shotgun (lord only knows how). Cue thirty minutes later, us hanging around in the kitchen, and suddenly becoming aware that theres three police officers surrounding the house with assualt rifles. This was less scary as it was hilarious because mine's a fairly small town, so we have met these officers before and our crime rate is rather ridiculously low. One politely knocked on the door and we explained the situation and they confiscated the gun, which we later picked up at the station. And since it was fairly fancy they then solicited us for info on how it was built. :D
Needless to say though, I kinda learned my lesson about that sort of thing, regardless of how benign something would seem.

Anyone retarded enough to brandish a fake gun in public, especially if they are making out like it were real, deserves to be shot. End of story. Especially in America, the land of the paraniod. You KNOW everyone will think it is real, even if you aren't going to act in a threatening way- so why do it? And if you are going to try to threaten people with it, well, you obviously need a bullet in you anyway for being another thug wannabe.

If you brandish it in a public place, your helping natural selection take its place.

You might even win a darwin award
