Agreed--- but when a gun is sold, how does the seller really know if the customer is law abiding?

They do a background check.

Moreover, several countries have very tight gun laws ...that doesnt mean their crime rate is high... quite the reverse.

I would never live in those nations. Our right to bear arms is the second ammendment in our constitution and as such is guaranteed.

Really?. What about first timers? And how do 10 year olds end up shooting their classmates and teachers?

So, you feel comfortable walking down a street,is that it? Does it actually make a difference? Can you foresee where you will be assaulted\robbed etc? That would be nice. So you can pull it out in self defence

Yes they do background checks if it's your first time buying a gun. Don't know how many 10 year old school shootings there are, but it's always illegal arms. For example- Columbine- all the weapons they used are illegal to own. Every school shooting has stolen arms because there are age restrictions. The lowest I think is 16 years old in some states for shotguns.

Yes I feel safer at home and in the street. I like knowing that not only the police and criminals are armed. I like that criminals have to walk around knowing that, too.
