Everything that happens before you hit the second floor with the generators and the turrts please.
Since i'm stuck and I seem to have blown my chances and have no saved games from before that.

And what happened to your previous save-games...? If I were you i'd just look around the level some more and figure out where to go. Or restart the level (level command)

It is impossible to perform an action in HL2 and become irrevocably stuck; the onlyl thing is bugs and glitches, but otherwise no.
