Nintendo has supposedly revealed a selection of controllers that are shaped exactly like the controllers for the Virtual Console consoles.

Now, however, a picture has popped up tha reveals that Nintendo might choose another way for those who wants to play the old games exactly like they were designed: with the old controller they were made for.

Obviously this may only be a rumour, but if not I am extremely excited. Whilst the "classic" controller has its merits, these entirely optional controllers really get my retro juices flowing.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure that is the most recent controller design for the Wii. So unless anyone managed to steal one or manufacture a high quality one themselves, this could well be true.

So THAT'S what was in the case in Pulp Fiction :p

I think i'll probably just stick with the Wiimote or the GC controller.

That would just be stupid. I just think that what Nintendo is saying is that the Wii remote will be able to have the functions of those controllers surrounding it.

Quick, someone YTMND it :O

Hmm... kinda nifty, but pretty unnecesary...

Also, I for one HATED the N64 controller, so I shant be wanting to relive that anytime soon.

I loved the N64 controller.
I think it would be cool to hold those retro controllers again! :)

N64 controller is aweshens, but for today's shooters it's completely useless since it only has one joystick for movement

I never used that third prong, the one with the D-pad on it.

And how is that suitcase "Pulp Fiction style". :|

Exactly! I remember having to ask like three different friends who owned the system (never actually got one myself) how the fook you were actually supposed to hold it.

The only game I had that used the third prong was Pokemon Stadium. And that was only for like 3 minigames.

I think the point of the third prong was for games that didn't use the analog stick, so you could just hold it like a SNES. I guess nintendo didn't think the analog stick would catch on or something.

Nintendo's controller did kick ass for FPS's. Use the C buttons for moveing and analog for shooting etc.. It's just like a keyboard. Thats how I played goldeneye!

Hah, is that the Master System pad in there? Chunkiest buttons ever.

Likewise. Hated it to hell.

Yeah but that didn't make me hate it. It was superfluous, but didn't get in the way or anything so I didn't mind.

Looks like a photoshopped Wii controller.

I used the D-pad on the N64 controller all the time. In Mischeif Makers and Smash Bros. I used it exclusively.

You may be right, but Edge is a pretty good magasine here in the UK. They seem unlikely to do that.
