remember the cute little bugs you could step on in black mesa... I hope to see some buggies in hl2 that CRUNCH under your feet... imagine seeing what npc's would say.... for instance if you used the manipulator to launch one into alyx's clievage...
 
Im sure there will be all kinds of cool little details like that.

Ah a thread devoted to me, I like it. Yeah I hope they put in stuff like that. The birds are nice, I hope you can interact with them (shoot them, manipulate them, scare them shitless by throwing something at them,etc).

hmm i wonder if you can shoot down the crows like in Stalker, would make some nice target practice :)

Gabe said there would be more than just crows. These little things are sorta cool, because they cost almost nothing in polygons: their AI is probably more system intensive than rendering them!
 
hitman 2 and deus ex had birds you could kill, that was fun. although PETA would be all over HL2 if they included more animals, stupid PETA. why dont they just join up with Mr. Peta because people confuse PETA with Peta's anyway, so samdwhiches for all!
 
I don't understand PETA. If people have games in which they can realistically shoot birds and other small fauna, then they won't have to in real life :p No I mean, it's not like the crows in HL2 feel pain, so there's no valid argument to prohibit killing them. The only one I can think of is that it might give people the idea to kill crows in real life. But that's like...really farfetched.

i think its painfully obvious by now that alyx has no clevage, thats what custom models are for.

Don't you feel bad about killing the poor things? I always walk around them.

Would be good if the manipulator could be used on people. You could pull their glasses off, move their clothes about, launch into alyx's .... you get the picture.
 
lol manipulator fun, i think we would need some new sound files though, something along the lines of "gordoN! give me back my clothes!"

I'd use the manipulator on the roaches. Toss'em at light-speed in scientist's faces while laughing and pointing at the screen...

I would really enjoy shooting birds at Combine soldiers with the manipulator you know. Or squirrels. Or any other small rodent.
If anyone is making a Dungeon and Dragon mod they should be putting that spell (I think it's called Insect swarm or something), with hundreds of insects killing everything in a certain radius.

but launching birds at people would be very fun, the same with launching something thru someone if somebody made a mod for it :D

LOL, a chicken laucher comes to mind.

I loved shooting the birds in MGS2. Sooo much fun when you shoot enough you get a message on your codec and the Colonel is like "Get on with the mission, idiot!" and your girlfriends like "You monster!". Ahhh good times.

Ever seen the Alfred Hitchcock's movie "The Birds"? Bird control is necessary because one day they'll rise up and KILL US ALL!!! :eek:

E-mail gabe, he said you can have clothes flap in the wind, but its very system straining, i've tryed it in reactor, it didn't work too well with my 2.4 gig p4 :(
