In a feature on Doom III on Pulse (the G4Tech TV show), Todd Hollenhead confirmed that RTCW2 is in development at another studio - he didn't say what engine the game will be using but the Doom III one is most likely.

Looks like id is getting their money's worth with the engine: Quake IV and RTCW II.

rtcw2 wahoooooo

just a bit of mindless spam, but meh..... rtcw2!!!! woooohoooooo

And don't forget the rumoured new title that Nerve Software is developing.

How ironic that instead of playing DOOM again when I heard the news of D3, I loaded up old RtCW instead and just beat it today, RIGHT before veiwing this.

Spooky.

yes! i love rtcw :D. looks like i need a new pc for all these new games though, mine's getting on a bit now :(.

i wonder how the MP's gonna be, rtcw MP had me hooked for months

free - alright now

*ahem* rumoured new title?

Yeah... well, I don't mean it's only a rumour, I'm sure they really are working on a new title. But there has been no information considering the title's name or anything specific. Just a brief mention of a secret project on their website http://www.nervesoftware.com/projects.html

Hmmmm...let's see:

Nerve Software + Id + Secret Project = RTCW II :)

It's not Nerve. Nerve is developing an all new franchise dreamed up by the guys at id sometime during the development of Quake3.

During the press conference, id CEO Todd Hollenshead first revealed two announcements of new games that are being supervised by id. One is being developed by Nerve Software and Nerve' head man Brandon James stated at the press conference that this will be the first game in a brand-new id franchise. Very little was revealed about the game during the press conference, but James did say the game's idea originated at id around the time of the development of Quake III Arena and that it would be a multiplayer cooperative game unlike anything that has been attempted before.

Don't know who it might be though. Humanhead is doing a Doom3 engine based game also. Splash Damage has worked in the world of RTCW with Enemy Territory, and they are also working on a Doom3 engine based title. A while back Grey Matter posted on their site they were working on a top secret game, and since they worked on RTCW they are a strong candidate. Who knows.

"a multiplayer cooperative game unlike anything that has been attempted before" that sounds very promising. It could really be something new and innovative

Good times are coming, thx ID guys I must confess I haven't given doom 3 much attention my mind is in HL2 but I'll give it a try. If it doesnt' devour our pcs

It better not be q3 engine because if I see one more game that comes out using that old junk engine.....

Dude, even the original wasn't on the Quake 3 engine. I think it will be the Doom 3 engine. :D

I loved rtcw, I hope this is true, Maybe we might get all our old clan people back together.

Dont forget American Mcgee is re-making The Wizard of Oz on the Doom 3 engine the same way he remade Alice in Wonderland on the Quake 3 engine

Where did you hear that, Eywanadi? News to me. The only screenshot I can find of Oz certainly doesn't look like the Doom3 engine.

I can not remember where I read it but it was during Qcon 2001

RTCW was build on the Q3 engine (with some improvements).

Awesome news, btw! :D RTCW is still my favorite MP game.

RTCW was absolutely fantastic. I downloaded the multiplayer test which they released before the game was out, and with a couple of friends we played seriously the whole weekend. I had two computers and we went to the same server, it was so fun. And it was addicting as hell! 8 hours felt like ten minutes. But the sad thing is, we got bored after the weekend marathon. But still it's the best multiplayer I've ever played

In the PcGamer review they say
Minimum:1.5 GHz, 300 mb RAM and a 64 MB Graphics card
Reccomended:2.0 GHz 512 RAM 256 MB Graphics

I'm in a bad situation now, because I can't upgrade only my vid card (Radeon 9600 Pro) because my processor Athlon XP 1800+ isn't powerful enough for like a Radeon 9800 Pro. So I'm gonna need to buy a new processor too, but than again I need a new motheroard to get the best results.

The best clan game ever gets a sequal!!

To say that i'm happy is an massive understatement :D

(more excited about this than HL2. A good single player game is fun for a few months. Multiplayer lasts years!!!)
