Return to Mana update

And as i posted on the Help wanted board

WTB [Character Animator]

And thanks for the props Sulk

D'you mind if I alter the newspost to include those pics you posted (it'll be a direct link to wherever you hosted it)?

Sure why not. I would suggest not the Cyrus render. The link will break as it has not been uploaded to our webspace. I dont know what the moddb policy is eaither. But I assume you would.

Go ahead with the Moddb pics though. Ill get the Cryus one ready for mass hits in an hour or 2

wow, this mod is gonna be mixed up with cute fluffies and bow tie wearing zombies. is that tucker carlson?

dunno if you saw it earlier, but any plans to add some paralax mapping to your textures? esp the stones, it would be awsome looking

i'm outlive - main texture artist of RTM

i'll ask you to remove the wip render of cyrus as it was NOT approved for the official media update

Well, I'm afraid I can't. It's past 24 hours so I can't edit the post anymore, and the email we recieved just said 'media update' so I put in the stuff I hadn't seen before. Sorry, but you'll have to ask Chris and/or travel back in time to inform us earlier (certainly nobody told us that couldn't be released).

:(

- completely leave opinion out of news posts? This would mean I would not be allowed to say 'it looks great' or 'cool new media' or anything like that.
- Seperate my opinion from the newspost main (ie, opinion goes under the pictures)?

IMO leave your opinions out of the news post. Add them later to the comments, but theres no need for a negative opinion in the actual news post. :)
Positive comments are (obviously) fine, negatives are not. So do differenciate.

There was mod info released on a BF2 site. All the media was absolutely ghastly, crap models, crap mod idea, totally rubbish images... looked like it was all done by a 7 year old... yet the mod's media was posted on the site with no negative comments by the news poster. Sure the community tore it appart and that's fine. But as a news poster it's not your job to judge on the news post itself. That's our job :D (of course you guys decide what makes the front page, but once it makes the front page...)
As said, critism in comments afterwards (as you guys are gamers too with opinions) is totally fine but the actual news post should be as unbiased as possible. Saying things like 'it looks great' or 'cool new media' is blatantly fine... but I'd refrain from the negatives.
Specially as then mod teams could wonder why one mod is commented on negativly on the front page and another is reported on with no comments on the quality.

If a mod is that bad etc. then rest assured us (the vultures) will take it appart in time. If a team is stupid to release underpar images to a site they should expect it to be ripped to shreds by the community, but not by the news posters of the site. :) Hold off with that until the actual comments - away from the main page.

My two euro cents.
Not an issue at all though, just my view on this subject.

Like dub said. Imagine your a newspaper writer. and you publish on the front page "dick cheney is an asshat but the administration is genius" that would be bad.

so this is sp right?any expected eta?

That doesn't even make sense.
