Oh shit, it's Ring Figure weekend at VMI, bitches. We happen to have the biggest college ring in the world, weighing in at 44 penny weight. All I gotta say is, damn. Wow, I'm a little bit drunk writing this, but damn, who else has their college rings? I actually only have the combat ring right now, but in about 12 hours I'll have the real ring, with the bigass stone and everything. I can;t wait. Anyone else here from a military academy? Well, post pictures of your college rings if you got em, I'll post mine when I get mine.

ummm.,.. you have to deal with a lot of shit day in and day out, but it means you really form a tight bond with your friends here, which is awesome, and now it feels really good

VMI - The Virginia Military Institute

Basically, for all the shit we have to put up with we end up getting the biggest college ring in the world. We get them when we're Juniors, so we can wear them around for a year and a half before we graduate, trying to help remind us to stay the course. Each class gets their own, personal ring which has a side dedicated to their class and the things they have done. It's pretty cool. I got my combat ring last night, which is just metal, no stone. Today I get the real ring, which is gold with a nice big stone on top.

VMI rings are the largest class rings in the world and weigh more than Super Bowl rings.

It's kinda funny, we had a guest speaker last night who I think could have convinced Stern to join the Marines and go kill Iraqis, he was just that incredibly motivating.

it's a military academy, based off of West Point, before it sucked

it's a state school, so you have to pay if you're not on scholarship, but it's basically the toughest military academy left, where we still actually have to work pretty damn hard to get by... the closest school there is to VMI is the Citadel, but they've grown a bit softer over the years
