Looks good, but it's hard to see the detail in that render.

the model looks good i guess but the texturing job really sucks .
its like photoskinning gone terribly bad.
i cant really see any detail or depth in it at all.

yeah can see the model a lot better now but that texture stil needs a whole lot of work there.

agreed, but is looking pretty nice.

its not about scratches really u cud make a really nice texture with just a few scratches on it and it wud still look nice ..the scratching isnt what lends to its credibility its the other forms of weathering ..... its hard to explain but the metal needs to have a nice sorta grungish overlay with some noise and stuff illl post what i mean.

hmm it seems like my pc wont let me upload sit at the moment so ill either mail it to u or post later.

heres a texture i painted to use as a base for my metals but u can use it if u wnat...use the clone tool to extend it ...but dont use it directly only use it as a base.

edit: btw those white things u have on ur gun make the gun look really weird are they suposed to be the shiny bits? coz u can do that with a shader in hl using masks and specular and reflective maps.

Thanks people ! Yeah this white scraches will be specular maped

check this : less scraches & completely new metal-base-texture

its looking a lot better now :p ...
but theres a whole lot of detail needed it looks like u just used the base u need to add a considerable amount of detail .
nice start.
theres also a bit of texture stretching.

I working at ammo-chain currently (tell me If there is any other place where I can add details - every single bolt seems to be on its place) I will also add some noise and "bumps" on the texture

looking pretty good. I don't noticve the bump maps though.

and one otherthing, I screws seem too "shiny" ... maybe tone down the burn/dodge on them?

shines , specular & co are just temporary . When it's time to create proper *.mdl - shader I'll fix it all ;)

OK i added normal/bump maps and tweaked base map (improve some details) check it:

looks 400% better than the first post :D hehe, nice work. Great job. :afro:

ok where's my last attachments?? I'cant see them :borg:
ayway check FINAL render (you're first i guess)
It's 50% smaller than oroginal (due to attachment size limit :])
