Nice. I wonder if any of the other characters are named after anyone historical.

Then again it might just be a coincidence.

^ What do you mean? You know we're appreciated. Didn't HL2 gave us that fine, upstanding example of non-stereotypical britishness Colonel Odessa Cubbage himself? What a splendid fellow he was.

Shows how much appreciation this site gives to us brits.
Many key members of the Staff are British. Well, the lazy ones anyway.

- Heady Lamarr is named after Hedy Lamarr, a famous actress and inventor.
- According to Marc Laidlaw, Gordon Freeman comes partially from Freeman Dyson, a noted theoretical physicist and mathematician (his theoretical work is a favourite of sci-fi authors, for instance, his idea of a 'Dyson Sphere', a gigantic construction around a star that harvests all available solar energy). Gabe Newell supposedly came up with the 'Gordon' with no recorded influence, but you can't help but wonder if he had Morgan Freeman somewhere in his mind when he came out with it.

Heck you never know, might be...Just like in the simpsons, Dr.Frink is based off a real scientist named Dr.Frink...

Wondering why I thought I'd read it before. Then I realised that the thread had already died.

I believe most of Valve's characters are named after real people. Including Barney.

The pound sign is simply a glitch.
