Rockstar screwed: Hot Coffee unlockable on ps2

Actually, no-one noticed the nude woman until Disney started recalling the videoes. :p

This is still pretty retarded though. It's a mod. There's a nude Alyx mod out there for sure, but no-one cares.
Yet put GTA in the title and all of a sudden it's like the pope came back from the dead and then his zombie re-died.
Enough already with the controversy.

Edit: I just watched that and it was like the opposite of erotic. It was also a total of maybe three minutes long. Go damn I'm sick of people getting worked up over the most minor things.

I wouldn't call it minor, i mean games=are usually assosiated with kids, that's why people go so mad, i think it resonable to get pissed, try go explain that it's a mod
i bet a 50 year old guy would have no clue what you are talking about

How can it be associated with kids when the game is designed for mature audiences. Again that's down to the fact that either a) The shops aren't strict enough on selling to minors and/or b) the ESRB aren't rating games properly.

As much as I hate censorship in this country I still Think R* are idiots for leaving this in the game.

it should always be a parents decision whta a kid can play and what not

I just found the link to download it on http://www.gtasanandreas.net/
Look around if you REALLY want to find it. Its accompanied by 3 screenshots. I seriously do not see the point in putting this into a game, its so silly. It was never gonna be allowed, its just...weird. I love all the GTA games since the first on ps1, but this is just stupid, its really dodgy. (up and down for rhythm, change view, change position etc) I dont agree with them having even thought about putting this in. If they get done for this then its their fault for leaving the content in the game. Rockstar you fools!

Not really, because some parents are idiots.

It should be the job of the age ratings board to decide, and the shops and parents should have to enforce these ratings, on penalty of a fine or jail. In fact, I'm pretty sure that is how it stands right now.

I dunno...

I think if Rockstar would have left this section openly in the game it would have left them looking far less shifty than they do now. If you think about it, it's a ****ed up set of values that allows a developer to depict fantasy murder and brutality, but comes down like a ton of bricks when they try to depict fantasy sex. If the Hot Coffee mod had made it into the final game it would have been controversial, sure, but not really much more controversial than picking up prostitutes and getting health through sex. It probably would have just been seen as Rockstar yet again pushing the envelope of acceptability.

But having it like this, as an aborted gameplay feature that wasn't cut properly and yet is still accessible, it makes it seem much more sinister to all these retarded moral majority types. It probably looks to them as if some sick depravity-fest of a game, as they see it, has been designed so that you can get an extra-depraved sex reward if you follow the satanic signals and become indicted into Rockstar's evil cult.

Of course we gamers know that games in general, and GTA in particular, just aren't realistic enough to have truly disturbing depictions of violence, or titillating sex scenes. However these facts don't matter when you're battling the truth-raping machine that is the media. It's all about propaganda, because when all is said and done you're having to convince people who haven't really got a clue about the fine details. And Rockstar have come off looking decidedly the worse, and shiftier, for these revelations about the PS2 version of Hot Coffee.

Wow a game is getting the very rating it should have gotten the first time it was reviewed by the ESRB. You guys are reading too much into this. It only sets a precedent that game makers cant hide shit that would change their ratings. I would expect rockstar to get fined up the wazoo for this.

Apparently Sim Copter had naked fat men walking around the cities, in hidden content similar to this. There was a bit of an outcry.

Just an addition to my post,

MATURE
Titles rated M (Mature) have content that may be suitable for persons ages 17 and older. Titles in this category may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content, and/or strong language.

ADULTS ONLY
Titles rated AO (Adults Only) have content that should only be played by persons 18 years and older. Titles in this category may include prolonged scenes of intense violence and/or graphic sexual content and nudity.

Look at it from a consumers point of view stern. A mom who doesnt have nearly the gaming knowledge you or I have. When she see's "sexual content" vs "graphic sexual content", its obvious which is going to have the actual humping process. SA has that, so a change of rating is perfectly justifiable.

What's a Mum doing buying 17 or 18 games for their kids?
what difference does it make? we have the esrb for a reason, a very good one i think. the principle is, you dont let a 20 year old drink, you dont let a 17 year old vote. the rules need to be followed so they arent blatantly ignored by companies like rockstar, who did little more than **** themselves over.

Yeah but I like our age rating system for games in the UK better. I rarely hear any complaints. U, PG, 12, 15, 18.

I don't see the point in having a rating for 17 and another for 18 when it comes to games.

And if mothers are buying games for their kids over their limit, then the parent is breaking the law, I think. Doesn't make a difference if that is M or AO.
But yeah, Rockstar did **** themselves over.

I agree, that is a much better division.

Me either, but until its changed it needs to be followed. We can just give rockstar the pass and expect people to follow it from now on.

Thats why the ratings are there in the first place. The main reason though is so that kids cant go into stores and buy whatever they want. Its a necessary evil.

I think the reason between M and AO is that there are laws about selling pornography to people under 18, and anything with nudity could be considered that I guess.

Yeah, between each session of programming they go around vandalising neighbouring properties. Bloody thugs.
