Roger Ebert reviews Battle for Los Angeles and it aint pretty

you honestly think film critics are going on their personal opinion and nothing else?

no not at all. like I said before, some are just mouth pieces for film studios, while others are snobs. But I really shouldn't have said that most are that way. Its just that after reading a lot of reviews (good or bad) for any given movie on rotten tomatoes for several years, I just can't help but think that many (but not necessarily most) critics are this way. I know many have a love and knowledge of film that I can never truly appreciate, and that they probably have spent a lot of their lives studying everything related to the art, but some still come off as a snobby jerks. But when a critic uses their vast knowledge and love of film to explain why a film is "good" or "bad", and gives a well thought out critique, I really enjoy it. That is why I like reading movie reviews, sometimes they can get me to think about a films and their story/theme in ways I never thought before.

The special effects in the trailers look really good, but under all of it, all it seems to be is a shoot em up and make loud bangs movie with no real story >.<. In my opinion at least.
