LINK.

Jay-Z's Roc Boys at #1, Rihanna's Umbrella at #3. Need I say more?

Watch how all your favourite tracks got passed over for some of the filthiest wank to emerge from the year 2007.

:flame:

Only morons follow the charts to decide what music they like.

doh I thought this was a thread on the Rolling Stones

I dont think I've listened to any of the songs in the top 10

Yeah I was about ready to shoot Jagger after reading your post, then I clicked the link. Now I'll just torch Rolling Stone's offices instead.

I fully endorse this product and/or event.

Most are really good.

Stop trolling.

Most are unadulterated lowest common denominator crap.

Some of the stuff that's on there is crap (Umbrella makes me want to puke), but they've also got a lot of really good stuff... Bright Eyes, Of Montreal, Spoon, Radiohead, Arcade Fire (even though I don't care for them), Wilco, New Pornographers, Gogol Bordello, Iron & Wine, Datarock...

okay that's all I saw... yeah there's a lot of crap on there, nevermind.

At first I thought you were all saying it was crap because it simply wasn't music you liked...but then I looked at the list and wow. Worst top 100 ever.

Soulja boy got #21? Are you kidding? That is a terrible song. The lyrics are so repetetive and uncreative and the beat is the same stupid thing over and over. Its such a dull boring untalented song.

3 "Umbrella" - Rihanna
4 "D.A.N.C.E." - Justice
7 "Rehab" - Amy Winehouse
11 "Stronger" - Kanye West
17 "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" - Radiohead
18 "Icky Thump" - The White Stripes
19 "1234" - Feist
20 "All My Friends" - LCD Soundsystem
21 "Crank That" - Soulja Boy
22 "Keep the Car Running" - Arcade Fire
25 "Teenagers" - My Chemical Romance
30 "LDN" - Lily Allen
42 "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" - Fall Out Boy
61 "Down Boy" - Yeah Yeah Yeahs
77 "Chelsea Dagger" - The Fratellis
82 "Ultimate" - Gogol Bordello
87 "Dashboard" - Modest Mouse
88 "Computer Camp Love" - Datarock
94 "2 Hearts" - Kylie Minogue
100 "Rockstar" - Nickelback

These are all awesome songs. There are several songs that are better that came out in 2007 but this list will do for now.

Must try harder.

I lost all faith I had in you right now.

Seriously? Those are not at all top 100 worthy. They in no way represent musical talent. Those 2 songs are so bland and boring. Especially solja boy. It's the same thing over and over...it's so uncreative I want to punch someone.

Also whats with everyone hating umbrella? While you may not like the song it's actually pretty good. It may not be worthy of the spot but it's a very good song.

i couldn't read it past about the 6th page because i realised it was absolute and utter bollocks and wasn't worth my time. its all mainstream rnb wank for the most part and that makes this list absent of my respect

Umbrella is an utterly superb pop song. In fact, it's less of a pop song and actually a cleverly disguised power ballad.

You go to a club. You get absolutely steam trained. All you want is a song you can sing along to. These three all fit the bill. I never said they should be in a Top 100 of 2007, but I would never trash an entire room over them being played on the stereo.

The only song in the top 10 that I don't think is rubbish is D.A.N.C.E. by everybody's favorite JOOSTIIIICE!!!

They may be fun in a club but they aren't anything special outside of that. Besides...anything with a heavy beat works in a club. Except rockstar...that never works anywhere.

Theres more evil in the charts than in an Al-Qaeda suggestion box...

Also, wtf is up with Kid Rock being on the top 100. Why hasn't he crawled under a rock somewhere yet? Who is allowing him to continue to attempt to make music?

Idiots who think they are bad ass for listening to him.

STFU. Listening to Kid Rock does make me badass.

I'd love to see you sing along to Crank That. Or Crank Dat, however it's spelled.

Haha...it's almost as bad as people who listen to ICP. If you say anything negative about their music they get in your face. I hope people like that die of aids.

Every time I see someone wearing an ICP shirt or hat it makes me laugh and cry at the same time.

Devendra banhart? On the list? hoshit. Out of all the 100 songs Seahorse by Devendra was the only one that made me go "Oh hey love that song :D"

Yeah, ever since ~2000 hit, I lost all faith in humanity and music. That's why I'm stuck in everything pre 1990.

Fixed. I can't stand the "they don't make good music anymore" shit. They make as much, if not more good music as they did at any period. Fucking period.

Just because the Rolling Stone sucks at compiling even a half-decent list (or brilliant at compiling what is hopefully a big joke list), it doesn't mean that the 90% shitty songs that are on that list are what 2007 had to offer.

I think the list is pretty funny. Normally I would look through a list to see if my favorite songs are in there. Now, I looked through the list hoping that the songs I liked are not on it, amongst all the garbage.

i used to think like that for many years. man i must've been annoying. but i've changed since, there's a lot of good music out there. i've learned to respect the professionalism and talent most musicians have, even if i didn't like their type of music.

why horse-face amy winehouse is so popular?

"omg I consume drugz and sing like a gorrilla and I say NOO NOOOO NOOOOOO!"

First one I've heard on the list is Icky Thump, #18, and that was from the radio.

Either someone at Rolling Stones owns a new Ferrari, or we've been had.

Haha QFT I really don't get what people see in her.
