Link. It had been uncertain for a while now about what the actual release date would be, but now it's confirmed (well, for America, anyway.) Probably be released in the UK at around the same time or a week or so later.

But yeah, this is probably the most excited I've ever been about a game... and that's saying something ;)

\o/. Heh, I just noticed that on bluesnews. I hope the UK/europe release date won't be too far off.

I need my fix soon. They won't delay it that much, they can't. *Walks off mumbling*

Can I turn this into a DoW vs RTW? No? Ok. :D

I hate to cite retailers as a source, but both gameplay.co.uk and amazon.co.uk (where my brother has ordered it, free game for me!) agree on october 1st, which seems reasonable as it's only 9 days off sept 22. As it went gold today, it also takes them only 9 days to duplicate and distribute, which I thought was pretty fast.

Game says the first as well, it definitely does seem like the most believable date.

I'm gonna have a go at the demo, to see what all the commotion is about. :)

Neat... Now I have something to play the next 3-4 years :p

Aren't the people who make the Total War games based in the UK? I'm sure they are, and if so I would imagine releasing in the US first would not really be an option. I know EA is the publisher, but still...

Edit: Well, maybe I am wrong

And I can get copies for 7 quid each :)

Who wants to be my friend \o/

hehe - perfectly legal I can assure you.

If you can get a GeForce 6800 GT for me for free I'll suck your dick.

Will an Ultra get me my brown wings?

The original date was going to be the 24th I believe. A week isn't much.

It just goes to show that any developer can miss a date by a week (a la, CS:S).

all the Total War games were made by The Creative Assembly, based in Sussex. no idea why they'd be releasing in the US before Europe, seeing as most of their market is actually over here, and not over there *shakes fist at EA*

oh well, can't wait :D

It's the new trend. Every title must be released in the US before anywhre else. That just makes me want to downlaod a warezed version even more. I really cannot be arsed to wait while I could download it within a few hours rather than wait a week+.

Tis silly, since Strategy games are vastly more popular in Europe. Like Dedalus said, the market is over here.

As a prostest, I'm not going to get the game, OMFGZ LOLZ0r!!one1!

At least, until its released :D

Yay for R:TW!! This game will surely kick all sorts of ass. I can't wait to pwn Ceasar with my ubertastic elephants. This will definately give us something to do untill HL2 hits our PCs.

If US get BF2 before Sweden does, I'll bite someone.

I'm still deciding whether or not to preload this baby. I loved the demo, but I suck at RTS games in general. ;(

I can preorder it for 39 euro, relatively cheap, but still 39 euro...

If you have any experiance with the previous TW games, you'd know this is a must have. If not, I feel sorry for you seeing how you have lived a shallow and pointless life.

The tutorials will most definitely cover basic tactics, plus the advisor is always there to hand out useful hints, tips and strategies. You know you must buy this game, it is your destiny.

yeah... preordered after playing the demo.... can't wait.

Man.... Fable tomarrow, and then this in a week? *heaven*

Can you play the Campaign mode over a LAN does anyone know?

/me awaits the games arrival on sept 29th where i work.... ;)

The demo doesn't do the game justice. The full release will. I have been anticipating this game as soon as it was announced.

whenever i play medieval, i allways start off really enthusiastic, then as i gather more provinces and have to manage so many things, i gradually grind to a halt untill i stop playing. then next week i do the same, but only end up grinding to a halt again.

wont stop me buying this though :)

I have the other total wars, and my ONLY gripe with them was pretty outdated graphics...but now...... :smoking: :D :E  ROCK AND ROLL
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

ok ill stop now

If I remember correctly, the turnbased game is playable in multiplayer. but abom./axyon would now better than I

R:TW will really be something special.

The demo was great, just because it was so easy to mod it and make your own battles. If you look around, you can find a tool that lets you pick from 70+ maps and customize your army and enemies army. It's wicked awesome.

It's probably not, it'll most likely just be a rudimentary 'attackers vs. defenders' battle for both LAN and internet, where you set the limit on money for each side and you get to choose what to buy. Up to 8 can play against each other (I think), although I'm not sure if everyone has to have a different faction or that the option to team up is included as well. It'll probably be single battles set on a random/choosable terrain, but then there's also the seige battles as well...

I'm damn excited for both the SP and MP sections :D

So much great stuff coming out for the RTS gamer...

- Rome: TW
- Warhammer40k: Dawn of War (awesome in MP)
- Battle for Middle earth

It's been so long since I played a decent RTS...can't wait.

A cool Mp game would be a defender in a city and the attacker has to break the walls and get to the city centre.

Exactly why I can't wait to play the game. Doing it in SP will be sweet enough, but against actual people!
