Hmm. It is certainly meant to be a pun. A rather bad one at that, a good example of the shoddy episode titles in HL2.
The other question is, WTF is it spelt with a K for?

no . it is a "route" so that part is right, Kanal is probably spelt that way same as most things in the area (ie not english but eastern europe) - either way it is obviously a pun on the dental surgery of the same (but spelled differently) name. And yes, with the loading times and stuttering it can be as painful as the real thing for some

Good, because when STALKER (finally) arrives I think we will be seing a lot more of them.. though they may be in the middle of words with no vowels, and probably be printed backwards

In fact, has HL2 taken a lot of things (environmental style) of STALKER and beat them to it?? Will STALKER seem overshadowed now by a game that, on the surface, seems to have some pretty similar looking areas... sorry - I always seem to post answers with things in that could easily start a new thread.

I am looking forward to Stalker though
