I am so sick and tired of people talking in "1337speak" How many ways can you say that you are cool to a small group of people and not look like an idiot? I understand that a lot of people come from many different locations, and make the occational spelling error or misspacing, but this sh*t has to stop immediately! I mean when did we all decide to let these 12 year old kids start talking this nonsense? I understand that some of these terms come from the old hacking community, and that hackers would use some of these terms to recognize each other, but the point was to use them in moderation, not in every sentence. If anyone has ever read the Jargon File in its entirety, if you got past the introduction you would see how silly and how nonhacker people who talk like this really are. The Jargon File is a great read for anyone who is interested in any type of computer related language or wants to find out about the history of real hackers, and not the ones how cheat in CS all the time.
