A Gamasutra article published late last week carries an interesting rumour; namely, that two of America's biggest retailers have told publishers they won't be stocking any more Wii mini game compilations.

Gama's Paul Hyman writes "Stores like Target and Best Buy have reportedly told game publishers not to even bother approaching them with collections of mini games, which they will no longer pick up."

If true, it's a welcome move, though probably far too late to have any impact on the Wii's image as a haven for cheap shovelware.

Also makes you wonder where they'll draw the line, as some of those "collections of mini games" - like T2's Carnival Games series - have actually sold well. Real well

there goes %90 of all Wii games.

Spoken like a true PS3 or XB360 owner.

I own a Wii & absolutely love it. As does my entire family & most of my friends who also own a Wii. The Wii mini games are a fun way you play with family members for either a quick game or a fun family night.

Please post the link to the source. I'm interested to know the reason why they won't pick up those titles & which ones were poor sellers. Do they mean titles like "Wii Resort"? My nephews got that for Christmas & they loved it. Hell, I really liked it the short time I played it before we left.

What is this, Fox News? The spelling is on the same level. LOL AMIRITE!?

you know the phrase 'The PS3 has no games!" it should also include, "The Wii has no games" but no one says that often

I own them all and I can tell you most of the Wii games aren't worth buying/playing. Wii sports resort is a good game, not a minigame compilation like they are talking about. About every 3-4 months there might be 1 wii game worth playing.

I'm enjoying my Wii, but then again, I just got it early December and haven't used it very much yet.

I have bought all current gen consoles. Here is the order of regret towards each purchase, least to greatest.

Gaming PC > DS > PS3 > 360 > PSP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wii

After living in an apartment where we owned all 3 systems, I can clearly say that the 360 had the most use, and the Wii was barely ever touched. Maybe once every few months for some random games of Brawl or something. There's nothing on the system that interests me.

First party titles are the reason I have a Wii. There are the occasional 3rd party titles that are worth it, but that's a rare occurrence.

I was reallyh interesteeda tfirst, butthen I plaed a demo and was like **** this

Lemme get a hold of myself.

It's like this. NES and SNES had the best graphics capability of their generation, and it all started to fall apart.

Without going on and on, I just had nothing but disappointment with Metroid controls, graphics, and the Wii. The Wii seems pretty fun for little minigames and party games, but games like Metroid deserved to be mind blowing, not disappointing.

I can understand being disappointed with the gfx (although on a decent crt the Wii can look lovely), but not liking the Metroid controls?! Did you try the advanced control method? It was much better than the standard and made Metroid a joy to play. When it comes to ease of navigating a level, platforming, and just generally chilling out and taking in the sights, i'd choose Corruption controls over a mouse or pad anyday.

You crazy fool!
