You guys, all of the retail stores are either saying the 1st or the 2nd. They really don't know so they just guess. It's been that date for a while now. I'm geussing it'll go gold around 8/25/04 and then it'll take about 2-3 weeks to get to the store shelves. so around september 10-20. Is my guess.




It would be cool if they did release it on the 1st or 2nd though.

Only took a lil more than a week for Doom 3 to get to stores after going gold, so I wouldn't say 2-3 weeks. You greatly underestimate Valve wanting to get this game released....they have spent far too much time and money and are no doubt wanting to get it out as fast as possible. I would estimate a release around mid-september...since I have not heard any rumors of the RC being approved or anything of the sort.

Official HL2 trailer released. Gabe talking about Steam's bandwidth for HL2's release. Gabe commenting that HL2 will be released "very soon". CS:S and HL2 preloading for ATI voucher holders as of yesterday. Yeah, I think all of this points towards a mid-september release.

damn, cuz i go some crappy camp with my school on the 8th and it lasts for two weeks, so that would mean i would have to wait while it sits in my house.....

i agree unfortunatly,...i went into my local gamestation,..and they had hgue gordon cutouts,.sayin,....'NOVEMBER '04' valve dont have frinal say in the reelase of the game,..the publisher can hold it back,..nov would make sense,..as its closer to theh holdiay season
