IF "Gabe Newells" post is the real deal, it must be the worst example on communication and damage management ever!

Why on earth not release a bullentin on either Valvesoftware or Steampowered? ONE post on one of many fanbased forums is hardly the way to go with something as serious as this. And then posting a mail address that will get hammered by thousands of mails, coming from people who've seen the leaked code this place or that place. It doesn't make sense. It's not like this way of relaying information will keep a lid on the whole affair, on the contrary in fact.

Let's wait till Gabe wakes up in Seattle and see what he has to say on this statement.

On the other hand; the glaringly lack of any info on releases, delays and projects on the official sites has been very noticeable. And it would be a real travesty if the rumors turned out to be true...

A Website is a communication tool. Either two-ways or, failing that, a window to potentially interested people, showing them whats going on.

The best way to fight rumors and lies is with openess and clarity.

As valve say themselves, they don't use their own sites for news, they prefer to use fan created sites to support the community. I think VALVe do a good job mainly on being open. You won't find any other games development companies where they answer emails so readily or use fan created forums...

Its been tracerooted... It was gabe newell.

They have made major announcements on small boards before... stuff that came true.. no release on 30th..
so it was Gabe newell..

It is different than how most companies do it.. but oh well..

They made the delay announcement with a single e-mail to Shack News, after all.
