AquaMark3 is a newly released benchmark tool that will test your PC's visual processing power, to determine how smoothly you will be able to run today's upcoming games such as Half-Life 2. Run the benchmark if you're interested, and post your system specifications & results here.

My Benchmark Result:

My System Specs:
Pentium 4 2.53GHz, 533MHz FSB
512 Kingston RDRAM PC1066
Saphire Radeon 9700 Pro, Catalyst 3.7 Drivers
WindowsXP Home Edition Service Pack 1

That benchmark is shit...certainly no indication of how Half-Life 2 will run on your comp

Let's just say I had to relate it to HL2 somehow so it would remain in the "popular" forum section of HL2 General Discussion. Now shhh!!! ;)

Hehehe.

50,000 Pts

P4 2.4C @ 3.3GHz (280FSB)
2GB Corsair XMS PC3500 @ 440MHz 2-3-2-6
Radeon 9800 Pro 256
Abit IC7-G

Built for HL2 baby........

I'm not flaming, but Yatta, this benchmark is discussed about ten threads down from yours. Could a mod please delete this one?

Will install it tomorow, too tired right now, it's 6 AM and still no press conference from Vivendi LOL :D

I would run it like this:
1600x1200 16 Bit colour
No AA, Anistropic filtering
Detail:Highest
Or are you un-able to change it?

It is recommended that you run the benchmark in default settings (except that you should set it to 1024x768) so that you can validly compare your results with others on the boards.

I completely understand, but the people who have replied so far appear to have not heard of this benchmark before or else they would have said so, therefore it's pretty cool to review some stuff. :)

Edit: I understand that this is the thread you were talking about, spitcodfry: http://halflife2.homelan.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7402&highlight=aquamark . But the thing is, many people who replied did not give their system specs and not everyone who replied in that thread participated in sharing their benchmark results. This is a more solid thread IMO. :D

acutally aquamark is NOTHING like what half life 2 will be, it has like practically NO 2.0 shaders, its mostly made up of dx8, and 8.1 shaders, and the FEW 2.0 ones, don't reflect very well on performance (thou nvidia still does poorly, unless there using there 50.xx drivers which convert all those (like 4 2.0 shaders) into dx8.1 ones, and then drop the iq down a few notchs) then they start to do "allright"

gsibble, you must have a VERY unusually powerful system. People with overclocked radeon 9800's haven't reached 50,000 with those settings.

I'm curious, I have a 1.8 GHZ P4, 512 MB ram comp running windows XP, and I want to buy a radeon 9800. Would my processor be able to handle that? Would it be worth buying it with my comp specs? Would I be able to max out the card to its full potential?

I'm not very hardware savvy :(

I have an Athlon XP 1700 with an All-In-Wonder 9800 Pro and it runs like a dream.

Then again, I was going from a Geforce 3 Ti 200 to that, so it was a bit of a performance jump. I e-mailed Gabe a while back with my specs, which included the 9800 Pro, and he told me I would be just fine. I wouldn't worry, if I was you.

i have a p4 1.8a, 512mb of pc800 RDRAM and a 9800 Pro, runs like a dream, a really good dream

I have a P4 1.8 , 512 MB ram, and a Radeon 9600 Game Buster 128MB ram, but it's recognized as a Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB, if I get a Radeon 9800 Pro, would that mean I'll get a huge difference in FPS?

umm, I got 30 000 points with my 1.6Ghz cpu and 9500 Pro

The program didn't work. It just crashed and said something about a Direct3d error.

I assume you mean FSB and you are sadly very wrong and misinformed.

http://service.futuremark.com/servlet/Index?pageid=/orb/projectdetails&projectType=6&projectId=6976972

Notice the name of the motherboard. Notice the FSB speed (although this was at 272 instead of 280 because it was for stability).

Where did you ever hear that? People take theit IC7s up to 300FSB! Check out www.hardforum.com.
