Couple of map making queries
1. Got my first area of my map done on an extremely basic level. I ran the map, started to run around for a bit. When I had placed the objects in Hammer, 3 tables had been put right on the floor, so that they looked like an ordinary table. But the 4th would not touch the floor, everytime I moved it down on one of the views, it would be moved down too far and be below the ground where it was no use to anyone. So, I thought screw it, HL2 has advanced physics the table will fall, and hopefully, the drop being small, should land in the correct position. Upon the run test, the 3 "correctly" placed tables were upside down, and the one that would not touch the floor, was perfectly placed. So anyone know how to fix that?
2. Another question, the entitys I have got in the map, two ragdolls, 4 tables and 4 chairs, all dont have the skin they should, they all appear black and really wierd, not what they should look like, how can I fix this?
3. How can I join one area to another, I tried simply creating another block that is partially in another area, like in the Unreal Editor which is easy to use. But how would I do this in Hammer?
Edit: Solved the running the map error problem, so I deleted that paragraph
