The glorious Soviet Russia is at it again

The ****? For what reason? Is Putin seriously sitting at his desk bored to death and decides to have fun by attacking the small guys that pose no threat at all?

...facepalm

Another thread on this already. http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=145487

Anyway, you should read up on this a bit more. Russia entered South Ossetia in response to Georgia deploying tanks and shelling the capitol city of the region. Russia has been saying for months that if Georgia escilated things, Russian troops would be deployed to the region. Given this and Russia's historical close relationship with Ossetia, this is far from unexpected. Now I'm no big fan of Russia, but I don't think they are in the wrong for once.

What an enlightening opinion.

Agreed. Seems to be a case of the OP naturally assuming the Russians = the bad guys, where as the genuine provocateurs are the Georgians.
