S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl - Multiplay

The 5 seconds of gameplay that they showed looked good.

I'm so pleased Stalker isn't using the damn bloom effect...

Give it time, its the new lens flare.

everyone must stick it in the games they make because it makes such a huge difference /sarcasm.

I dont see much difference between the sp and multiplay, the sp looks like with bots. What is actualy going on?

that trailer dependended on the crappy music and awful camera more than the actual game to make it look cool. :/

Wow.....shooting guns at people w/ nice gfx

I really don't see anything that amazing about the multiplayer, but that is just a small clip, can't really judge on it.

Framerates have been somewhat dodgy on most of the footage of STALKER released. It's quite worrying, actually.

hopefully from now until release they are optimising like mad. cant have a great game out that performs like farcry did/does on less than the most expensive systems.

I hope so, because it is looking like a promising game.

Yeah looking good, although S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is is the type of game that looks sweet before it's released then on release everyone finds it's riddled with bugs and has some serious performance issues, a bit like Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines. I hope not though.

So far the gameplay looks good, but from previous videos there did appear to be some issues with frame rates. Let's hope that GSC are using this time to tweak the game as much as possible. Overall though I'm looking forward to it.

Well that sucked.

Not enough game footage.

hmm.. is there a release date for this game yet? or just the vague Q1 2005 stuff?

anyway...now that u guys mention it.. i am worried about the dodgey frame rates and such.

official time of release is may 2005. GSC is currently working on testing and balancing the singleplayer part.

The latest edition of the German print magazine GameStar (02/2005) contains a small booklet which deals with the "TWIMTBP"-titles ("The Way It's Meant To Be Played") of nVidia. In this issue Oleg Yavorsky talks about their partnership with nVidia. GSC is "very content" with the balance of frame rates in relation to the quality. "The quick support and response towards our questions regarding the peculiarities of the architecture", Oleg Yavorsky explains, is the biggest advantage of their relationship. "This knowledge is the key factor which allows us to optimize the performance of our game. One of the main functions which we can use thanks to the nVidia-based hardware is a high dynamic range rendering pipeline of 64-bit colours", he adds.
Concerning the multi-player it is stated that the designers are currently busy with the balancing of the weapons, the speed of the game and the details "that increase the fun of playing".

Check it out!

This just in, they added a community created monster. It was from the monster's ball contest a few months back that allowed the community create a monster for stalker, and here's the winner.
