Saints Row Review

I'm unsure about this one... Not sure why but I may rent this before I buy it...
 
I'm quite looking forward to this.

Protect the pimp sounds fun - imagine trying to get you pimp to safety while cars are trying to ram you off the road and bombs/rockets/bullets are flying everywhere. Get a group of good mates together to shout bollox over comms and the hours will fly by.
 
Going to pick my copy up tomorrow, Ill leave some impressions when I get it.
 
I'm waiting for GTA4. I'll be waiting a while, but i'm not fond of the SR demo anyway. I'll be happy with Forza 2 and Dead Rising in the mean time.

Everything Volition has done since Freespace 2 has been distinctly meh and/or crap-tacular.

I got it today for myself and my brother. I've spent about an hour and a half with it and so far, I'm enjoying it. Sure, it's a GTA clone but it's a quality clone that really builds off what made GTA so fun. :thumbs:
 
Considering grabbing this, mostly so I'll have something to play on the 360 again and actually get some use out of it ;)

That and it's still more than two weeks till Dead Rising. *whimper*
 
The game copied everything that rocks about GTA and made it better. And also there is a online multiplayer for christs sake! You can either join or create gang and have a turf war with other people's gang.

Hopefully, Rockstar would learn things from this game and make it better for GTA IV.
 
Just ordered :)

My friends copy was delivered today and it seems that the framerate is noticeably smoother than in the demo and online is great fun, but there's not many people playing yet. Visually it obviously craps on GTA, the driving is pretty much the same, and the gun fighting and street battles are leagues ahead.

This should do very nicely untill GTA4 arrives in about a years time.
 
I guess it's a moderately fun game, but they should have been harsher because of the blatant plagiarism. I mean seriously ... they took what others had done and developed a carbon copy that really brought nothing new to the table. Sure, they tweaked a few things here and there, basically just responding to what people had complained about in the superior, original games ... but they didn't really do anything new. The online mode is generic and besides, it's already been done in Liberty City Stories. And to top it all off, they released their shameless rip-off on a next generation system and it's STILL worse than the originals.

I dunno ... I guess it may be worth a rent. But the poor attempts at copying GTA's humor and style and just flat out stealing the gameplay really inspires nothing but dis-respect and disgust for me.
