Salvia Divinorum

Yeah, it's short. Only about 8 to 10 minutes. However, it is legal.

And peyote has no-where near the same effect.

I did not even know what Salvia Divinorum was until this thread. Neither did I know it even existed. Thank god for google or I still would not know what it is lol.

My brother was telling me about Salvia, he said it was ok, short lasted, and think i'll stick to weed.

For those who don't know, Salvia Divinorium (Diviner Sage or something like that) is a plant related to mint, it is legal, but the long term effects are still unknown. I haven't tried it yet, but i heard it was ok.

I don't intend on trying it. A friend of mine did, and said he ended up curled up at the feet of his friend's mom, bawling his eyes out

Lol ya, theres some pretty unusual response to it

But if you try it around some sober buddies you'll be fine even if you lose control
It's worth trying at least once

ROFL! I was not going to try it anyway but that just killed any little thought in my mind about it.

I tried a weak strength of that once, and got a bit of a head buzz.. Wasn't too impressed to be honest.

Then, several months later, someone produces it in a dorm room / halls at uni, and I proceed to hit several bongs thinking "Hmm. This should be a waste of time.. But I'm bored, so why not."

It was at that point, that I decided to lie back down and sprawl out on the bed. The only problem was, that when my body hit the bed, the room kept spinning. This was in itself, a bit unusual. Things started to go downhill from that point, as when the room finished its first complete revolution it started to fold in on itself. The whole situation ended up with me trying to struggle out of the vortex created by the room folding in on itself, and into the safe haven of the bathroom. Then just as suddenly as it all began, everything returns to normal and I heard myself say "Whoah..".

Interesting stuff salvia divinorum. It can mess with your head if you underestimate it. Thankfully after the initial 'trip' it only affects you for about 30 mins to an hour. At least the strong stuff does, and you can always sleep it off while everything else returns to stable probability levels, as my overwhelmed mate did. I would definitely say its effects are similar to that of mushrooms, if its in high strengths, not really a weed sort of 'legal high'. More like a legal hallucinogenic.

I say this as just my experience with it, however. I have another friend who described it as 'flicking through a series of alternate universes', akin to the 'universe in a box' episode of Futurama. He then went on to see himself in comparison to the scale of the entire galaxy, which I hear was quite an extraordiary experience. The effects vary from person to person and depend on setting, mood, and external influences (e.g people just trying to freak you out).

I'm honesty really suprised that it's still legal.

Salvia divinorum is the shit.

I was unimpressed when I first tried it. But after loading a waterpipe with some quality salvia, I quickly changed my judgment of it.

I've done my share of substances. Salvia is the only one that enabled me to watch my DNA deconstructing from my body and magnifying itself into a void of space, in which I examined my makeup within myself. Parallels between human genetics and the universe were organized and elaborated to a degree that made so much ****ing sense. Man is God. Man is the universe. I floated down from the void into my modest house on the beach and engaged in philosophical discourse with the manifested and personified shades of my mind. There were so many other things, as well as the usual distortion of perception and mental thought. But it all felt so natural and revelatory. It seriously felt like a day had passed during the course of my trip.

Sure, it all sounds like crazy crap now. When the trip was over, I felt like I'd been left with a conclusion, but had forgotten the rationale for it. But whatever it was, it sure was awesome.

ADDED: People say to do it with your friends as sitters. That's fine, so long as your friends aren't ****ing idiots when you're doing it. When I was first going to try it, everybody was gathering around me like it was some kind of spectacle, just waiting for something messed up to happen. I backed out because of it. That will kill the experience and is the furthest thing from a good environment to trip in. Get people who are sensible, or do it on your own if you're stable enough.

No prohibitionist scare in recent times, as it's a 'newly discovered' (if that makes much sense) substance.

I guarantee you if marijuana and even some other drugs were found in recent times they wouldn't have the stigma and legislation against them that they do today.

I estimate only some things like crystal meth would still be illegal.

There is talk of legislation against it, but it's not really gone anywhere. It's new, it's brief, there's no big health issues involved, and a lot of the community surrounding it is responsible. Also, you're not really in a position to do much physically. You get a few cases of people wigging out, but most bad trips (which aren't too common) result in shuffling around a bit, and you're quickly put back in place if you have a decent sitter.

So unless there's some emergent and widespread retardation that comes up around it, it should be safe.

Just my opinion but if someone is going to post something in here like "You're all druggies" Just don't post anything at all. Kinda like that old saying If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

Infern0, troll statement. Cease and desist! :P

Salvia is probably going to scare the pants off of any of you that tries the extract. I first did it several times with little to no effect... it seems innocuous until you get shot into outer space at the speed of light, leaving your mind and body completely behind. It doesn't even bend reality like mushrooms or acid - it just rips it open and you can step behind the fabric.

If any of you want to try this, please, do it with caution. A salvia trip can be amazing, or it can be horrendous. Do it with a sitter, but make sure, like Ludah said, they're responsible and know what's up.
