surprised there hasn't been a thread on this already :p

I just finished a couple of hours ago; here's a quick review, though its subject to change once I play the original through (I've played it some)

story: 6/10 -this was probably the weakest part of the game, the story was ok but not phenomenal and making you want the next episode a ton... but I still do want the next episode for all of the rest of the things
graphics: 9/10 - I love the cartoony style they captured... almost perfect for the game
sound/music: 10/10 all the sound effects, voiceovers, constant awesome music playing in the background... all nearly perfect
gameplay: 8.5/10 - I felt all the puzzles were just about the right difficulty for me - they took just the right amount of time for me to figure out without leaving me thinking they were too easy or too frustrating. The last puzzle was a bit nonsensical and probably left me the most frustrated
dialog: 9/10 - I laughed at a great majority of all the jokes in the game, and there are lots :p
lenght: 8/10 - this one's a hard one to judge... with the episodic gameplay and all, what makes it harder to judge is the fact that you can't buy the game individually (atm afaik). I'd say the game took me about 3-4 hours to beat which is a bit on the short side I guess, but for $10 for the minimum fee to play it and supposidly more regular episodes I find that its a good lenght anyways.

overall, I think it deserves an 8/10 or so... definently worth a play through, though I don't think there would be a tremendous amount of replay value... although there are a lot of things that you can do that open new dialog paths and jokes and such which are fun to find :)

Not a whole ton of adventure fans around here I am finding out. ;(

I had a couple of threads about adventure titles for the DS that should be kick-ass and no one seemed to care. ;(

That said, I am waiting for all the episodes to be released on DVD before I play them...though I am having a hard time waiting after reading some of the reviews! :E

I might pick it up now since I'm not finding many good PC titles. Is it only on Gametap still? When will it be in stores or available to download?

I thought they said something about it being out later (Nov?) as a download not involving gametap.

Ep1 is getting nice reviews overall , 9 from Eurogamer , for example.

That's correct, as Reginald said, Telltale will put up their own download on Nov. 1st. After the first six episodes are out (about spring 2007), they'll come out with a CD release of the first six episodes together, which will cost about $35 (significantly cheaper then getting each episode seperately, for those that don't mind waiting).

that's cool that they will have the option

and it wouldn't be significantly lower than getting each one "seperately", at leat from gametap. plus you get all the other games gametap has when you subscribe

I'm loving it :p

Yeah, what I meant was that it's significantly cheaper than buying each episode from Telltale off their own download service...it's about $20 cheaper.
