Samurai games

Anyone know a fun game (preferably free, and with multiplayer) where I can be a samurai with a katana and cool armour?

and i dont think that multiplayer samurai is that popular either. but the tenchu or w/e series is pretty good i heard.

Soul Calibur has a samurai, and the game is really fun.

are you talking 1st/3rd person or just a game that has samurai? cause there was that game shogun: total war...i'm sure you could find that for cheap...maybe it's sold in a jewel case for like $10...that game was kinda fun and would definitely be worth $10 imo.

and if you like card games, there's one called "honor of the samurai" which is pretty fun.

BTW you're not going to find what you are looking for in a free multiplayer game.
I suggest waiting for a halflife2 mod as well ..... Bushido for instance (hopefully they progress more than they did in their hl version )

I wanted to do a Ninja vs. Samurai mod for HL2 but i wasn't getting any interest........and i'm lazy.

There is a mod named "Samurai Wars" coming out with the european release of Savage (supposedly 20th feb). Nobody knows what it is though, but considering the excellent melee combat in Savage it should be cool

Bushido is a mod for Half-Life covering Feudal Japan, includes Samurai, Ninja, Ronin, Archers, Geisha you name it, even musketeers. I was waiting for it for awhile, they promised it for Half Life in 2002, and again in 2003, then went quiet for awhile, now the site says it's planned for Half Life 2. Still, I can't wait, most of the content is done, it just needs to be done up for the new engine... which could take awhile. Here's the site -

heh, I already mentioned that I wish they would have released a hl version, I was waiting for that mod to come out for quite a long time back in the day
