Over here in the UK San Andreas is out for PC on the 10th and I'm thinking of buying it but....

Someone told me that it comes with Starforce 3 protection on the disks, which he said means all emulation software on your PC has to be un-installed (i.e. Daemon Tools). Does anyone know if this is true?

If it is as much as I want the game I'm sorry, but I don't think I'll be handing over 25 quid for it.

Apparently Starforce 3 is un-hacked as yet too, but a quick check any any number of torrent sites shows games on them which apparently did have Starforce 3 protection (but my mate did say that Splinter Cell 3 for PC, which uses it is as-yet un-hacked)... argh!

...ehm...what? Do you seriously believe in this?

Do I believe in what? I've done a bit of reading up on Starforce 3 and it's all a bit vague.. But yeah, I can see them making you un-install stuff in a sort of 'do what we ask or you aint playing the game..' type of manner, which I don't like the idea of.

Edit: http://www.firingsquad.com/features/starforce_interview/ have a read of that.

I have Daemon and Alcohol 120% installed and I can run Splinter Cell 3 no problem, it doesn't ask me to remove the stuff.

me too, I was playing SP3 for the last 3 hours with both alcohol and deamon running on the background, No problem at all

Hmm. Maybe I read the article wrong then. I just assumed Starforce 3 installed some kind of driver that prevented any kind of emulation what so ever, etc.

Splinter Cell 3 has been hacked. You can download it and use an emulated drive to run it.

I dont believe it has been... I've been looking and checking out the comments on torrent sites and no one speaks of a working one so far.

BTW does anyone know the cheapest place to pick up the game? Best I've seen thus far is play.com @ 25 quid.

you are right, but 90% of the DVD/CD rom drives are correpted after you run the hacks,

It disable the physical drives and let the game think that the physical is now deamon, it works but very risky, ;(

Warcraft 3(TFT) at first was hard to get emulated but in the end...I got it. :)
