I saw Saw at the theatres last night, damn what a movie. Defenently the best "horror" movie ive seen, its nothing like Scream, Halloween or anything. This one is different. For those who havent seen it. Go see it its a good movie and hell scary.

Agreed. This movie rocked in so many ways. The best thriller of 2004.

yeap, im wondering if i should by the DVD or not =)

umm... maybe , you all missed the acting, it was absolute shite, it was a good premise, though

Its not a horror movie. At least i dont see it as one.

Suspense Thriller is better.

Best movie of 2005.

LMFAO! Im my opinion you dont deserve to speak ever again.

I heard a few things about it... someone cutting off his own foot on big screen isn't that much of a tasty cinema-experience to me ... :( but that's just me, I think I would find that too disgusting. I already frowned when I saw the trailer and one of'em realized "...he doesn't want us to cut through the chain... he wants us to cut our feet!" - that's enough for me, perfect horror, no real need to show how it's done afterwards...

Best movie of 2005.

Isn't this a bit early to tell? :| ;)

Are you kidding me? I hope you're not serious there, seriously, take another look. As good as the actors are, they just suck in Saw, it's like they got on set and were like, "oh, I don;t have to act today." Constantine kicks its ass up and down the block, and technically Saw came out in 2004 anyway, so there
And guess what, I just spoke, beat that

Overall, Saw was a great thriller. Great concept.

Cary Elwes was just horrible at times though.

how dare you insult Robin hood!

great movie, great concept/premise and even execution... acting was sub par most of the time however.

Those who can, do. Those who cannot, review.

Yeah but sometimes those that can't, try despite. Like in this case. That's why there are rubbish films.

Okay, You just proved your idiocy right there.
Keanu Reeves, is probably the worst actor of our generation, he's only making the big-time because of his rep.
Constantine was just a stupid movie, based off of a kick ass comic.
Which, the movie officially butchered.

i think you are proving your idiocy, Keanu Reeves is good :D

he just got handed some crappy scripts (dracula)
but I HAFTA SEE CONSTANTINE SOO COOOL

I really did not like Saw. It was a rip off of Seven, which was a much better movie. Nothing good about this movie.

actually, i have to agree... with xlucidx, Keanu Reeves sucks as an actor, if he tries to act, but luckily he gets stuck in roles that don;t require much acting, things he can pull of, like Neo (in The Matrix, not the sequels) and Bill and Ted, Constantine works, it just needed a gruff guywho didn;t seem to give a shit, and keanu pulled it off well, i figured i'd skip the comic book because i might not like the movie as much

The acting wasn't the best though... The ending(In which he cuts his foot off) I personally liked around that part.

Great movie.

Wanna know a movie I hated?
The Grudge... Should burn in hell.

hmmm Saw was ok i suppose, wasnt the best film ever, but not a horror movie as some as you suggest..

i wasnt scared in any part of that movie. :(

Nahh. I don't think it's very close to a ripoff of Se7en...

I kept wanting Cary Elwes to yell, "ASSSS YOUUUUU WISHHHHH!"

C'mon...some spite-filled brain tumorvictim on a killing spree? How lame. And what the hell did the orderly guy from the hospital do to deserve what he got? He was the one that stepped in the doorway saying, "He has a name, blah blah blah, don't call him the patient er whatever" Boo-urns to this one.

I meant 2004.

first time i saw it i looooved it...thought it was amazing

second time, i wasn't as hyped. its good, specially for a debut but some of the acting lets it slip a bit for me...i'd DEFFINATLEY watch another film by him though cos its deffinatley well done

I saw (pun intended) this movie last weekend and have to say that I was more than disappointed. The premise, which attracted me to the film in the first place, seemed pretty cool but every thing else was just crappy, especially the acting.

And another thing; all these people I talked to said it was super gory but I sure as hell didn't see anything that waranted such a tag. I mean you don't even see the guy actually cut off his foot, he just puts the saw to his ankle and your forced to watch his face twist in agony...oh boy. Kinda of reminded me of how I felt after watching that one scene where the guy cuts off the cop's ear in Resevior Dogs, I was like "he stood in front of the guy the whole time, doesn't that defeat the purpose of having an uber gruesome scene?"

My two cents.

Saw is nothing more than a perfectly average movie and it irritates me how good people think it is. I suppose the one thing that saw did for me was make me appreciate life a bit more, but it didn't even do that well.

yeah this so isn't a horror movie at all, it was alright I guess decent movie but it woulda been better if that ****in crazy lookin clown was real lol, oh yeah the main character was a horrible actor

I went to see it when it came out in UK and i found it really disgusting, but not one bit scary.

Also that other movie cant remember the name, but it was based in the London underground was a horror. I went and saw that and that was not scary neither, it was the same as SAW very gory.

i havent seen SAW but it looks cool if it has gore in it i will like it

Oh my God the acting was so awful!

SPOOOOOILER!!!!

When he cute his leg off it sounded as if he was taking a crap... I know that you'd probably make weird noises if you did saw your leg off, but who the hell would ever consider using the guy who played Robin Hood in Men in Tights, and the stepdad in Liar Liar as a doctor in a serious role? God damnit...
I had kinda figured out that the "Dead" guy on the floor wasn't dead, but the rest of the twists were cool. But it kinda seemed as if the director had a good idea, but couldn't really make a movie about it, so he had to put in the morally correct black dude fighting for justice because Jigsaw killed his buddy... but still he managed to tie it all together - except from the acting... dear God it sucked!

I thought the film was pretty crap. Was expecting to be atleast slightly scared, but came out of the cinema pretty disappointed... random story twists that were seemingly added at the last minute to try and boost an impotent storyline just didnt help in the slightest.

I completely agree with the last few posts. I thought the movie was terrible. The acting was pitiful! I've seen film school productions that are more convincing in their delivery (Man Bites Dog one such example, by leaps and bounds). And everyone seems to think that the premise was awsome. Sure, it's a little creepy, but friggen rediculous. I can accept ghost stories because it involves supernatural activity that I don't have any experience with and can imagine quite well. But when a movie tries to convice me that a serial killer is going to go to such great lengths and derive such clever clues and situations just to make them appreciate their life?

No.

And the ending "twist" was pretty obvious. I dunno, I felt it was a terrible movie no matter how you looked at it. And whoever said it was the best of 2005, you are wrong in so many ways, quite literally.

His word is not the law, but neither is yours... :upstare:

Good film. I watched it the other night.

The acting was crap in some parts though.

Oh yeah...

The guy that was locked up and got shot at the end...why the hell didn't he dive into the tub for some cover or something? The doctor guy had 1 bullet to use and was going nuts from shock. I would've at least tried to survive...

Ok, the movie came out in 2004. Second, I havn't heard one other person, critic or otherwise, that even thought of including this movie on their best movie list, especially not at the top. So, I can't change his opinion, no matter how wrong it is, but I can comment on it. Your comment added nothing except a commentary on my comment.

Try again.
