I see where you're going, but it's not quite the same. The Roman Empire having collapsed about a thousand years ago, the oppressive repercussions aren't still felt.
Whereas with slavery, the reason there is a lot of poverty within black societies is a repercussion of black people being second class citizens for hundreds of years.
I'm not saying that any blame or whatever should fall with contemporary generations, but there is a semi-reasonable stem.

Exactly man! I have never owned a slave in my life, and no black people that go to my school had to suffer through slavery. They get just as much rights as white people.

I think a lot of people on that site are crazy with their views, but most of them I can respect their views even though theyre different from mine...a moderator here just can't go and ban someone because they hold a different viewpoint from them. And I hardly found his post to be trolling at all, he just held an unpopular opinion on here. So his ban seemed more like the moderator was personally offended rather than him actually doing something against the rules (which is abuse)

I think the issue at here is that the site should be open to all rational views. Hence, being liberal, conservative, pro-choice or pro-life, is all good. However, racism (which is clearly irrational) isn't allowed.
