Putting kidnapped people in a convenient trap and then watching what happens to them? Basically snuff. At least Jason was about some machete wearing guy who would never die. In SAW the whole point is just to watch the person die in a scenario which guarantees an impossible escape and gruesome death. It's almost like putting ants in a jar and frying them with a magnifying glass.
