It has been brought to my attention numerous times about who will be scrimming, is it first come first serve? and things like that. I think we should start thinking of progressing the clan towards setting up these goals. As of now, true, we are a new clan. But lets take the initiative and start getting things set up.

So maybe we should start setting up a small time on the weekends to get the server closed down, and start working on our teamwork/who will be what class/things like that. We need to also figure out how we are going to work the recruits. Are we going to just let anybody who wants to be in, in? Or for the competitive side, will we reach out beyond hl2.net? I really don't have a preference, that's just once of the things I think we could work with.

And I wonder if there would be a chance for a clan subsection for members of the clan, to keep things orginized?

What team sizes do you use in scrims states side? Over in the eu it seems to be all 6 vs. 6 at the mo - a little smaller than I was hoping.

I'm assuming 6-8 players. So that means we'll need 12-16 members every practice to do a 6v6 or 8v8.

I'm not entirely sure how we should do practice. I'm guessing both teams should be given a few minutes to talk to each other about strategies, what classes to pick, etc. After the match, we should all talk about what went wrong in each strategy and how we can improve it.

The most important thing, though, is to make sure the defense and offense can handle a variety of enemy strategies. I've heard of some pure-Pyro offenses that can rip up the defense with an early rush. There's also of course the scout rush to the int/cap, and HW/Medic combos that need to be dealt with.

It's important to formulate a strategy around our players, and not our players around a strategy. So we'll find out who all is good at what, and make decisions then. For now, everyone should pick what is comfortable to them.

I know Pitz is a monster when he's a HW, so we'll probably have a HW/Medic going wherever we need stopping power. I'm pretty versatile but I think I'm best as a Soldier. We need at least one engineer to handle defenses, presumably paired with a Pyro or Demoman. Offense will consist of Spies, Soldiers, Medics, Pyros, Demomen, and Scouts (perhaps even forward Engineers).

In the end it's all about versatility, playing to our strengths, and adapting to the enemy.

btw, if im correct...

im pretty sure you can only use 1 spy and 1 medic per team in competitive play

That will kind of suck a bit, in my opinion, if they limit the amount of what can be used. Then again, I don't know, not having played this game competitively :p

So far, Pesh is pretty right on the money with this. We just need to work on things one at a time for now, but we just need to get the ball rolling.
