i've played traptown 3 times and every time the combine took different actions to open door

first time he even didnt open the door, and only shoot thru window and the second combine, too

second time, he opened this door, but somehow he opened it even with table staying behind it

and finally only the third time he pushed this door , broke it and entered the building

Course it's not scripted...
Also proves he has the "beta".

kolor, did you ever try to kill the combine outside first, run into the room, and then push the table in front of the door? If you do this the door will still (from what I have...heard) knock in 2 times while a guard shouts "freeman!" outside. The fact is that no guard is outside the door to be trying to knock it down in the first place. That would be a scripted sequence placed by the developers to look like real AI for E3. I'm not trying to flame Valve or anything as the combine AI at that point may have been incomplete (it looks like it if you check out the source code),and they were trying to capture a certain action for E3. It's of course much easier to script this behavior rather than record a demo fifty times until the door breaks down.

And im getting his information.

The only time anybody from Valve mentioned something during the E3 demo about the AI's behavoir not being scripted was during the sequence when the scientists followed Gordon through the old buildings in the Barricade video. I believe Valve when they say this sequence was unscripted. They never said specifically that the door being kicked in wasn't scripted so they never lied. I hate what this hacker is doing, trying to justify theft.

It's not like these are spoilers Tlaloc, this is E3 stuff. We are simply trying to determine whether or not the scene in which the combine kick down the door was indeed scripted. It seems that the part where the combine are pushing against the door was scripted while the actual door being kicked open is determined by AI. So it's logical to conclude that at E3 Valve had not finished the combine AI, and so they scripted the first part when the combine are trying to break in. The actual breaking in though was determined by the AI which is still very impressive. I would expect that Valve has come some way since E3 in terms of AI and that whole sequence could be played out simply through AI.

Jeebuz I don't know what you guys are expecting, even the MOST ADVANCED AI systesm on the planet barely reaches the abilities of a 2 year old.

So your egos have been a little dented because they have promsied XYZ and they may not be able to deliver or are hyping it up...welcome to big peoples world LOL!

ANYWAY, no matter how advanced the AI, your brain adapts to the game - You develop the necessary stratagies to defeat your AI adversary and over time without even thinking about it you will be pre-empting the AI.

Personally if I was Valve I would but putting blank rounds in all your weapons. :p

Oh BTW you are spoiling the game for yourselves playing it in it's beta state, I would call that "value subtracting" - duh
