SDK, HL1: Source, and DoD: Source. Your thoughts?

Well, with the gold announcement that everyone is obviously crapping over (I am as well, dont worry) I now wonder about the status of HL1: Source, the SDK, and DoD: Source. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I wouldnt mind knowing about any or all of these things. Especially the SDK... I know a lot of mod teams are just waiting to get their paws on that SDK... and I hope they can soon! Because mods are the heart and soul of HL.

Just wondering what all of your thoughts are about when they may release these.

Ya, I agree. I'm sitting on a cs 1.6 server waiting to convert it to source once the sdk is released and we have some sort of admin/amx mod.

Kudos to valve on the gold announcement!

if you read the news article on the front page you would see that half-life source is going to be in the collectors edition of hl2, so that has to be released before half-life 2.

dod:s most likely won't be realised for a while, and the sdk could be released tomorrow or 3 months from now, who knows.

Just because it's in the collectors edition doesn't mean you get it out of the box. It could mean you get it through steam when they finish it, just like the Silver and Gold packages through steam.

I wanted DOD for free but would settle to pay more retail for it with HL2. I don't have that option and will have to buy it seperate retail. I am kinda bothered by this. Since the first release of DODs won't be worth buying. I bet the frist release of DODs will be what they sell retail.

SDK will be after HL2. HL:S at the latest will be with HL2. DoD:S will be after HL2.

no i dont think valve would do that to the retail buyers...most of them dont keep up like we do

yeh i really hope they release hammer on the same day. Didnt they release a version of hammer that came on the hl cd last time?? If so they will probably do the same again.
