Well after about a months work, I've finally completed my picture of Gordon and his Dunebuggy.
I would just like to start off by dedicated this picture to Valve for the wonderful relations with the community, and especially for their amazing commitment to games.
The lighting was exaggerated on purpose, and note most of the buggy was done by memory. So its not perfect. Hope everyone likes it!

It works for me, but it is undergoing a lot of matinence at the moment, so just keep trying later.

If Valve want to see artwork, its more likely they'll look in the artwork section.

As Abom says, no exceptions.

*shrugs* beats me. Image shack always worked, and its working for me now.

The only thing, to me, that doesn't seem to fit is Gordon's face. I dunno, just looks a bit off to me

Me too, but none the less it's a very nice piece of artwork.
 
Woah. Very nice. Only thing I noticed wrong is that the dune buggy has no gun.

I was going to put it there, but I decided not to.
 
Very good stuff, the coloring is great!

Although the image as a whole is extremely flat, especially the environment, and the buggy and Gordon are almost ortographic except for a few perspective attempts. Would be good to see Gordon in a more dynamic pose, he looks like a statue.

You should concentrate the details on one spot, not the entire image, to make the viewer have something to focus at.

Thing is, I did. The buggy and Gordon are 100x more detailed than the enviroment. Or at least I though they were, because I sure put 100x more work into them.
 
Wow, absolutely stunning. Excellent work. But forgive me for saying so, but what is up with his neck?
Actually, that seems to be a common problem when illustrating Gordon.

Gordon's suit has a kinda chain-mail turtleneck. Probably a bitch to get done right. Even anry had trouble.

I like the picture Snowball. His legs kind bug me, but the rest is keen. Very nice job :)

Hm, what about his neck seems off? It always sat as natural to me. Did I define it too mech with the shading and his adams apple?
 
The neck isn't off or too long or too small, it's perfect. :)
 
I think it's a bit too long and the HEV suit nexkpiece behind it too high. Oh I'll quit niggling. Great pic. :D
 
its a great pic, i really like it. But the neck is a little to long
 
hm, well I could change his neck fairly easily thanks to layers, but changing stuff on deviant art can be sucky. Perhaps I'll do an enhanced version in the future.
 
definatly worth applauding snowball- that is one if the best peices of artwork i have ever seen on these forums. the detail, the atmosphere and the proportion are great. The oly criticism i have is the neck is too long, other than that the work is grat :thumbs:
 
looks good, some issues tho. gordon looks way to stiff.. no gauss on the buggy.

the background is wierd.. the water level is ok, but next to the water the ground goes down. (I can see that on the tracks of the buggy in the sand and the plant's in the background) this makes the whole image look odd

Ugh, for about the 4th time, the gun was taken off the buggy on purpose. Thanks for the other crits though.
