Yeah, sounds sweet in theory. I wouldn't trust it with my life though.Shamrock said:Ahh the future is upon us.. Seriously though, this is great. This reminds me of so many movies where in the future you just push one button and say the destination and bam, the car drives you there.. I would love to own one.. Although, I would rather drive it. Nice car by the way..
but you know that they put the plane in auto pilot rightMiccyNarc said:Yeah, sounds sweet in theory. I wouldn't trust it with my life though.
Neither would I ever fly on an airplane without a pilot.
There's a difference between autopilot and pilot-less.Kamikazie said:but you know that they put the plane in auto pilot right

With autopilot, there's always a human sitting there to perform corrections if something goes wrong. Not so with a pilot-less plane.
But, unlike in an airplane, where are 1000s of feet between you and the ground, in a car you're surrounded by stuff that can and will kill you if you hit it at high speed. You won't have time to make corrections.Kamikazie said:the car also has "auto pilot" and your at the wheel, you are able to take over as the driver, so if something goes wrong your there to fix any problems
Yeah, I can see using it for long drives in the country where you can just sit back and read a book.thats true, but if i was going to be going fast in that car then i would take control, if its like a 20 - 50 mph zone wth ill let the car drive

What are you talking about when you say "America won't buy electric cars?" What does that have to do with driving at all? Electric cars will help you go out on longer drives with a full charge of course. Still I can see the electric cars being bought up by many Americans with these outrageous gas prices.. Think about how many Americans want to spend $70 to fill up a 10 Gallon tank that they will get merely 300 miles out of it or so.. Its not worth it anymore.. Electric cars are coming and fast. They have a chance of replacing all gas powered automobiles right when they hit the market.Adabiviak said:If the manfacturers do a couple of demos where they let it go through a really tough obstacle course at that kind of speed, where your own driving skills would be pressed, maybe. I don't think America will buy this for the same reason that America won't buy electric cars - they like driving.
Excellent idea for public transportation though.

Haha.. I am just saying.. Most people, within reason, will be able to purchase one.. Even if the payments monthly are 3 figures higher than their salary. Of course them poor folk cannot afford one.bryanf445 said:they're going to be really expensive though, and do you think everyone will be able to afford them? (think about the people in downtown sharon too)
