I'm too sexy for your body...

Figured I'd contribute here, since I'm always checkin this forum.

I'm gonna have nightmares now of this guy sat at his machine, the camera moving around and showing that face lit from the flicking of the monitor

Great pic :)

Heh...thnx. Elf, that reminds me of a scene from Halflife where you find the zombie sitting in front of a computer, twitching and freaking out, with the light from the monitor flickering in his face.

definately a great accomplishment, looks really amazing (and creepy).

may i ask how it was done?

you're weird looking :)

Hey what media did you use? ...it kind of looks like grease pencil or conte. Looks good I like your style ...I'd like to see more.

CyberSh33p you're much more fearsome looking ..but why is there smoke coming outta your ears? and why do you have banana's on your head ...is that supposed to scare me? ....well it's working!!

I am feared all over the swede-australian countryside for my rampant pillagings of cornwheat knobs!

/me feels bad for hijacking finger's thread :(

/me hugs finger

haha. That robot owns...The hijacking was worth it! lol, is that a cigarette for his arms?

- My pic was just a sketch, done in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet.

I gotta get me a tablet one of these days ..I'm an old school artist (been usuing illustrator since 92 but before that all my illustrations were done by hand). All my illustrations start in Illustrator then it's off to photoshop for colouring and effects. I'd save some time if I did it all in photoshop but I was turned off tablets a few years back because of the lack of control (i'm sure that's changed now)

did you also do your avatar? Your style reminds me of a graphic artist that I admired years back who did all his work in acrylic ...cant remember his name right now. Post anything else you may have

CptStern - I would definately give tablets another chance, (Wacom is the only way to go). It takes some adjustment; going from traditional drawing/painting to using a tablet, but the freedom and flexiblilty of it is worth the initial frustration. Yes, I did my avatar; it was a quickie sketch of some actor (DVD screenshots, are a great way to grab interesting imagery to practice painting/drawing). I have a growing sketchbook, some of it viewable here: www.duncanmoore.org

And now. I couldn't just sit by and let Cybersh33p pillage my corn-knobs. I must send in the cavalry!

Screw Dr. Seuss, we got Dr. Finger! That's a really bad name for a doctor actually. Especially one who might handle funny bits

But that pic does look like that kind of surreal animal stuff.

Finger you're a little bit twisted (in a good way).

that link to your site has some excellent sketches (I'm a long time illustrator and a former visual arts teacher so I'm not just stating my opinion). Some of those sketches were brilliant. Some of your work is definately publishable ...do you work as a illustrator? or are you like me: a jack of a bunch of trades (web design, print, illustration)

Thnx Cpt. that means alot. Right now, (like everybody else, it seems) I'm trying to break into the gaming industry; primarily as a level designer. I had a small stint as a level designer with a company here in Houston (company tanked after 1 yr), but most of my experience is amateur.

No matter what I do in the 3D world, I try to keep myself in the practice of drawing. I don't know if I forsee a future where I try to wear the tag of 'illustrator'. There are so many amazing illustrators out there... I feel humbled at every turn. For me, the fun is in studying lighting, color, ideas. I just love the challenge of pushing something from the fuzziness of your imagination to a readable image, and trying to understand all the components that make it work.

you'd make an excellent concept artist, but as you've mentioned it's good to be well rounded. Good luck in "making it" :)
