Man, I'm so excited about this!! :rolling:

You're gonna have to be aged roughly 20 or over to appreciate why this is a massive release! The best football game series (forget your FIFA and Pro Evo folly!) revamped for 2006!

Any other Sensi fans just as excited as me??

The bad news is that it's released just 8 days after HL2: Episode 1

You wait ages for a bus, then 2 come at once!

man just play wenning eleven series

forget all the football games except one WENNING ELEVEN

Yeah, the Winning Eleven series is titled Pro Evolution Soccer in Europe. It is better than the FIFA series yes, but in terms of only gameplay - no football game has surpassed Sensi Soccer!! And that's 14 years on!! :P

I always hated those games. You'd have the ball then change direction and the ball wouldn't follow your feet. Annoying.

yes it would but you couldn't just spin 180

anyway, ISS Pro Evo has gotten beyond Lazy and hasn't improved since 2. The AI has gotten worse and the game has the worst cheating I've ever seen (got a video of a ball going straight through one of my players chest to score)

Don't blow ISS out of proportion, it's good but it's not going anyware, hasn't been since ISS 2 and Konami are guilty of FIFAism (annual releases with no real changes to gameplay or graphics)

Sensible Soccer was amazing but tough...Really had to be good for ball control - I loved it! This better live up to the series but will also have a tough time competing with Pro Evo and Fifa!

It was good in 1998. Its 2006.

The Pro Evo series does not actually follow on from the ISS series, as they were both developed by different teams from within Konami.

Sensi Soccer does require a bit of skill to master, but it's all the better once you do. When you pass the ball, the ball goes in which direction you tell it to - it doesn't 'snap' to the nearest player. Fingers crossed over this one, hopefully it lives up to the Sensi name! :D

Pro Evo 1 and two were both called
ISS Pro Evo

Different designers, and they did eventually phase out ISS altogether but what the hay, I'm oldschool

Well, whoever developed them, they are probably the best on the market right now, but I think that may change :)

downloaded Sensible Soccer but cant seem to run it :(
And i wanted to get in the mood and all...

You can play it perfectly on emulators - SNES, Megadrive or Amiga. The Amiga version is how it's meant to be played - but it's harder to get the emulator working!

been playing the SS demo on the XBox

even though they haven't sorted out all the kinks of the keeper (no pass back they just let it roll in)

its amazing

Blows ISS out of the water in terms of enjoyment, if you get beat, it's cause your a chump, not cause the AI is on a whim.

Sensible World Of Soccer on the Amiga remains the best football game of all time, bar none.
Only people that couldn`t play the game slate it for being unrealistic, when in fact it was the only football game where the ball didn`t stick to your feet, but a skilled player would never lose the ball, so great were the game mechanics.

Been snooping around a few sites, hopefully it'll be compatible on the 360 (only discovered an original xbox version). If it is, bit of Xbox Live lads?

Yeah, so realistic you can make the ball do s bends.

Sensible Soccer was the beans, mate, the beans! Some slightly ridiculous ball curving was possible but it also made it possible to score with some awesome floaty bendy crosses and long balls, and put some proper finesse into your crossing.

So the ball didn't stick to your feet - just don't do a 180, nubs! Great gameplay, interested to see what they do with the classic retro graphics.

No Live support is a bad decision. Sensible Soccer has always been about multiplayer - a decent online version, with leagues and ladders, would be the best thing for gaming since Nintendo decided to make a game staring a fat plumber.

Had to delete the only comedic relief around here.

Tsk tsk moderators. Tsk indeed.

It doesn't count as comic relief when the only person finding it amusing is the one that posted it.

Warbie - I think, sadly, that maybe they omitted Live support in order to have the game launch co-incide with the start of the World Cup. On the plus side, if it is successful, it could kickstart the series and Live will undoubtedly be in the next release? :)

Hopefully.

They should have released the original (with a few tweaks/3d) over the market place for a budget price with built in online play. Imagine how crazy launch day would be!

I adore Sensible Soccer, but won't pay for an offline version.

You guys do know the demo is out now right, I`ve been playing it all night :D

demo is fun.. wish i could change the buttons though.

they need better sound, sure, there's the crowd and that but it's so dry and plain.

i`m sure the full game will have better sound, the demo`s for SWOS on the amiga always had the full match sound cut down.

Demo is alright...Was able to change controls but didn't like the fact that there isnt a "change player" button...

Not the classic frustrating yet fun game that i remember....

Got the full version now, and although you can edit the teams and players yourself, it`s alot of hassle, so I`ve just done team names and am waiting for some dedicated person to do a team update pack.

me housemates doing that for the xbox,

its really good fun if a little buggy.

we were playing a custom cup, with all teams, just finished an Italy - France game, and were on Portugal - Norway when I went to sub a Portugal player. The squad formations brought up Italys team...

I got it too, only had time to play it for an hour, but wow - sticks to the original formula and builds on it. The old timng the slide tackles is still there, and the movement of the players is tremendous (reaction saves from the keeper are particularly impressive). It's much easier to score goals one on one with the keeper now aswell, and you can 'feel' if you're gonna be able to get the shot in, just be looking at your player (they seem to lose and regain balance, just like in real life). Can't wait to play it later on, but have to go to work first :(
