I'm sure on September 30th they will give us something new, maybe new video's. Does it in any way excuse them for yanking our chains like this? Hell no. Will it fill the void of emptiness alot of us are feeling right now? Hell no.

;(

We'll be getting the Benchmark, at the very least.

There was no yanking of the chains? There was a delay, they told us.

They told us a week before the supposed release...As you can see people are not pleased by not only that it was delayed but the TIMING of the annoucement.

They may not have known. It could've been a decision not to rush the game but to delay it for a bit.

You really think they only figured it out a couple of hours ago?

"You really think they only figured it out a couple of hours ago?"

SO TRUE !!

No, I mean they may have been toying with the idea for a while.

Half-Life 1 was delayed a year while they went through major changes to the game (practically restarting it). While, it's unlikely that Half-Life 2 will be restarted again it goes to show that Valve will delay the game if they just decide to improve it.

Why are you guys making this news like it is holy grail? This Isn't the only time a Gaming site has claimed to have "Official" information and it turned out to be bullcrap. I don't know why this announcement is any different. And to "Delay" the game 6 days before release would be a huge mistake and Valve knows that.

why? you're still going to buy the game the day it comes out.

Yeah but apparently they don't give a **** either way...

At least they need to give a good new trailer with new stuff in it ...
Or a new *amazing* bink video ... Something like that + some PICS.
But i prefer the trailer/bink :D

Even if it is truly delayed, is that such a bad thing, really? I mean, I want to play the game, but heck, I hope they take this time to really optimize it for "other than $400" graphics cards. My buddy just spent $400+ on his 5900 and he's not happy at the idea of playing HL2 at a "less than stellar" framerate.

What does that say for my Ti4200?

So, hopefully Valve will get with Nvidia and optimize the game!! That would be awesome!! (who wants to play a game where you're playing at 10 FPS anyway?)

why should they bother wasting their time? i've seen enough of the game to know i'm gonna buy it...and they know that...and they know you're gonna buy it.

i'd rather they spend their time doing whatever they need to do to get the game out

What about the game. It's most certainly ready by now.

Money money...
