Well I loved Lords Of The Realm 1 and 2, so I have high hopes for Lords Of Realm 3, and from the screenshots it looks like I won't be disappointed.

Its not the best RTS/strategy, pff.... Its very good, but I prefer the Total War series.
And in that manner (medieval warfare with castles), I think I would be more interested in the sequel to Stronghold.

ur all stupid... it's HOMEWORLD!!!!! homeworld is the best RTS ever and HW2 doesn't dissappoint

Homeworld is a fully 3d RTS....i believe we are talking about 2d.

nobody said anything about 2d, just "rts/strategy"

lords2 was good...never played the 1st one. i highly disagree that it's the best of its kind, though the turn based + rts was well done. i also have high hopes for lords3.

all of the games mentioned previosly were 2d...........


they are completly differant categorys of games.....

Actually none of the games mentioned except LOFTR (hehe) 2 are 2D.
Stronghold is pseudo 3D (in 2D graphics), it does have 3D elements.
LOFTR 3 appears to be in 3D.
The Total War series are in pseudo 3D too (3D terrain, 2D men rendered in 3D and a 2D world map).
Even Total Annihalition is also pseudo 3D as it does contain 3 dimensions.

And Homeworld and Cataclysm where both good. Homeworld 2 stinks.

units only move in two directions in all of those games.(airplanes and sea units are just made to look higher or lower....they are not really in a 3rd demension.)

3d gfx yes.

3d gameplay no.

Actually, Rome: Total War will have the units rendered in 3D as well. Should be good, no idea when it will be released though..

My favorite RTS games are the totalwar series, I can't wait for Rome: Totalwar. Does't look like it's coming out until oct 2004 thou. :/
