By the look of the extras, it looks awesome for those you have yet to buy the DVD. Oh, and the movie's damn good too.

Seriously considering rebuying this. Firefly is orgasmic.
 
this was meant to be out, like years ago. WTF is up with the holdup.
 
I'm open to the idea of a rebuy, but I'll wait to make sure theres really some worth there.
 
The first disc is about the same as the DVD version I already have, but I might rebuy it just for that damn case alone. I doubt I'll learn anything new from all of the bonus features but more Firefly is more Firefly you know?

Looks like I'm giving the old copy away to someone and buying this instead :)

I lent my first disc to some bitch and she hasn't given it back.

I watched a few episodes this week already though.

Once I get that damn DVD back I want to do a marathon day where I watch every single episode back to back.

I usually just do a disk a day, or half a disk a day.

God, these threads always make me all warm and happy about Firefly, which is often replaced moments later by towering rage at Fox for being douchebags. Ah there it is.
 
What ever happened to the MMO that was announced? Canned already? :|

It was just announced as a "YAY WE'RE STARTING IT" not too long ago. I bet it has a year-2 left on it.

I agree that the box art looks much better. I ****ing hated the way they marketed the film as some sort of generic sci-fi action film, but Universal probably thought aiming it solely at Firefly fans wasn't going to get enough people going to see the film.
 
Whats the craze for this movie? Very dull, boring and average.
 
My brother in law turned me onto the series about a year ago.

I fell madly in love with Serenity. When I found out that the show was canceled, I was totally bummed... What an amazingly cool show it was..

Thats what i thought too. Then I watched the tv series, and i was like "zomg <3"

Watching the series makes the movie work.
 
I think I was one of the few people to be converted by the Movie - god was it worth it...

When is the copyright no longer in Fox's hands? 2010?

I saw the movie before anything....I loved it to death, even then!

Can't blame them really. The movie avoided a lot of the "western" atmosphere that the show had because it really was a last ditch effort to save the show. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Joss's decision and not Universal's. It did bring the show a lot more fans either way.

Personally, I never ever saw a preview for Firefly. A friend of mine who was a huge Buffy/Angel fan kept mentioning that Whedon was making a scifi show, but that was all I ever heard of it. After she was raving, I sat down and watched an episode and was hooked. They really didn't market the show right at all.

And **** Fox for not at least moving this to the Scifi Channel. It's not like there's anything of value being shown on there now.


[EDIT] Also, someone buy this and let me know if the Deleted Scenes and Outtakes are the same ones as the regular DVD or not. I'm up in the air (with the recent wii purchase) of whether or not to wait on this.
 
I don't see why people are making such a big deal over serenity.... I saw it and thought it was good, but not like OMG AWESOME I'M GOING TO CUM IN MY PANTS or anything...
 
Serenity is a good movie, but Firefly is legendary, which brings Serenity up a couple of notches.
