I liked Serious Sam and Painkiller but SSII seemed rather crappy from what I tried. I don't know, maybe I'll borrow it from a friend and try it some more...

I'll probably get it through...*cough* other means.

I hated the demo.
The patches made it even worse.

Croteam totally ****ed up the game's formula, and consolized it to hell.

I liked Serious Sam, so I'll buy SS2 when it comes out on budget probably.

Um, isn't this coming out tomorrow?

This is one of those games that you can't play by yourself due to extreme omgbored.

I'll get it when it's $10 on the shelves of Wal Mart (but I will purchase it).

The demo bored me. Doubt i'll get this.

Unfortunately the demo really let me down. I didn't get any of the good ss feel at all. I played the first two and loved them for their mindless crazy run and gun action. Ss2 looks to overemphasize on the crazy and mindless parts. Lots of flyers, uninspired enemies, and generally void ai makes this game a wait and see for me, even though fps is my genre.

.bog.

On my pc everythign on high hdr etc. It looked great. Its no F.E.A.R but it looks great.

You should try the demo.

I thought the demo was pretty crap. The graphics looked on level with UT2003 in most places. Painkiller is a lot better than this.

If I get it at all it won't be for a while, the demo looked ok but it just wasn't the crazy insanity the original serious sam demo was.

the game is crap...

you should remove the sad smiley from the never option since alot of people will be perfectly happy not buying this piece of crap...me included.

And you should remove your name from this forum.

I'll buy it if that demo isn't indicative of the full game. Demos are usually pretty telling of the full experience, but I'm crossing my fingers anyway.

I will buy it but not for a long time after release because my computer barely ran the demo and I want to enjoy the game when I play it.

The demo was not a full representation of the full game!!

I will no doubt get this, however, I'm looking for reviews to see whether it's worth getting on the release date or whether it's best to wait for the budget price.

They promise to have tons more enemies on screen than in the last games (a world record actually). They also mention that the bosses are very, very huge. :)

Never!

I never played the original or PainKiller. I played the demo and it represented everything I hate about video games. It was very possibly the shallowest game I've ever played. I hated everything about it.

To each their own though. If you have fun playing it, more power to you. I hope the full game lives up to your expectations.

Thought the demo was dreadful, which is a shame because the first game was excellent.

I didn't like the massive amounts of flying enemies. I liked the flurry of ground bad guys from the first that were fun to fight rather than how it felt in the Serious Sam 2 demo - putt one shot into a monster, watch it blow up and aim for the next guy, wash, rinse, repeat.

New demo. Has the last demos level and another. http://www.fileshack.com/file.x?fid=7830

EDIT: Just played a while and let me tell you, this demo feels more like the old sam. Open areas run and gun battles plz headless kamikazes!

Definately a better demo of the game, but there are still some things that I'll need to get used to:

1. Sam's slower movement. In the other games he's pretty much running all the time, now it's only a jog at best. It makes things more difficult but the gameplay feels slower because of this.
2. The audio. Wow, these recordings sound horrible. Sam's voice is really distorted all the time, and in this demo, it felt like some of the sounds were missing entirely (i.e. the Kamikaze screams). The weapons seem muted too. Where's the punch that comes from firing a shotgun or shooting off a cannon? Anyone else with these problems? :(
3. Levels that just end abruptly (although this is probably only beacuse it's a demo version).
4. Annoying cutscenes. The first cutscene of the new level was painfully bad. And I also had to watch the last cutscene again because I didn't get the "joke" the first time. The middle cutscene though, was awsome. :D

It would appear that most of the games shortcomings stem from the audio department. If the recordings were a lot better then I would have purchased this game already. I'm a huge fan of the series too.

I'll have to play this demo again at home, on the better PC to get a better read on this, but it's unfortunate that so far this game has been underwhelming. :(

K, that last demo helped turn me around a little. Finally some GROUND based enemies. Disturbing friendlies though. WTF is that thing running at me with a health pack!

mmmm i'm getting 400kB/s on the demo download, gotta love download accelerators.
