serious water problems

Hello i tried to put water in my map, i am using an open map with a skybox and i put the water in a pool. but the water is invisible from above but ok from below the water. i have put a env_cubemap entity in the map bove the water but no luck.
what should i do? any help would be greatly appreciated
 
Do you compile with rad and vis on normal? That way, my water and lightning always works.
 
Sounds like you have water + displacement surface voids cutting into each other.

If you want to use water in displacement surface areas apply a nodraw to the bottom of the displacement and take off nodraw on the bottom of your water brush texture.

If that doesn't work build nodraw textures around the water texture so that it cuts the leaf in half during compile times. This will allow for the surface normal to appear compiled in the game.
