service pack 2

Has anyone downloaded service pack two?
I was going to wait untill they have all the bugs ironed out befor I downloaded it. Im just wondering.
Has anyone had any problems so far?

Also wtf is up with the new windows update page. Its much slower then the old one.

:hmph: Whenever I try to go fetch the SP2 update, Microsoft keeps telling me that there's such a high demand at the moment, so I cannot download it yet... this has been going on for the past three days.

Im a little worried that Its going to mess up my computer and my dads. My dad keeps a lot of his business file on both the computers so I dont want to get a message after installing service pack 2 that says you must boot in safe mode or something like that.

well i dont know if it has to do with sp2 but i installed it and rebooted fine everything worked fine. then i went to sleep and when i woke up it was frozen to the screensaver. so i rebooted and it poped up saying windows could not load hal.dll it is missing or corrupt. i tryd to boot with the windows xp cd and i got to the desktop but all my drivers were uninstalled. my display drivers in particular, my monitor and my 9800 pro. and im still screwed im gonna end up reinstalling windows completly. reformating...

I downloaded and installed Service Pack 2 with no problems. Everything is running perfectly fine here.

The ony beef I have with Service Pack 2 right now is the amount of memory it hogs up. The new security feature hogs more memory. Oh well, as long as it works. Right?

Don't get it. They admittedly made a poor patch, and until they fix "everything", strange bugs can appear and it's different from comp to comp. I'd rather have an "UNSECURE" system and use Trend Micro, then have a "SECURE" system without -- Which adds bugs and the risk of more.

It messed up my internet if you have a wireless network and use another program to access it windows will try and take over the other program. I think there was other problems but I can't remember the others.

:thumbs: I just picked up the Service Pack today in the morning. Some things ran a little smoother, although about a couple of times while browsing with Internet Explorer, it would crash.

I had SP2 installed on my other HD, just to test int untill I got my raptor. Anyway it sucks. The security central does nothing except use up system resources, and after awhile I got that hal.dll error too. I didn't do anything about it, I just installed windows on my new comp.
