I'm not a mapper, but I was thinking that maybe it would be possible for a proper football map for CS:S to be made.
1. Is it possible to store new weapons within a map without any non-map files?
2. If not, is it possible to give a weapon a new model and properties?
3. Is it possible to block off the buying of certain weapons within the map, without use of the console?
4. Is it possible for a scripted event to happen on the condition that a player of a specific team crosses a boundary with a specific weapon? (obviously by now the football)
5. Is it possible to change a weapon's properties so that it knocks only a certain weapon out of an opposing player's hands, doing little or no damage?
6. Is it possible that once a specific weapon hits the ground, it can't be picked up again?
7. Is it possible for a second spawn area that could only be filled by one player between both teams?
I was thinking that the HE grenade could be replaced with a football with the same primary fire, but with an underhand toss for a secondary fire. The knife could be replaced with the fist and would knock the football out of an opponent's hands and into the hands of the knifer. The secondary toss could be used for short passes and the primary for long passes, and when the ball hit the ground it cant be picked up again. The ref ( the player in the solitary spawn point ) presses a button and a new round begins with the team spawns on either side of the football, and one player spawns on the ball. The ref could have a weapon of his choice to penalize players he thinks are cheating or being bad sports.
If a player makes it across the right goal line, his team gets a point
All extra players that couldn't fit on the field could be spawned behind the stands to fight to entertain themselves, but their spawn area makes them invulnerable (but can't do damage either) with a window to watch the game.
Complex and garbled, I know. But is something like this possible?
If not, would nonlethal bullets be possible to kick around a soccer ball in a much more simple game of soccer?
