Shacknews had the opportunity to sit with Chet Faliszek and have a little chat about Left 4 Dead 2 and the Dark Carnival campaign.

Shack: Well, thanks! But seriously, what was the inspiration behind this campaign?[br]

Chet Faliszek: So, we mainly kind of designed the whole set of campaigns as, it was really first New Orleans, Savannah, swamp, then we started looking at Georgia. We were like, well, we could either do some rural city things, or let's just kind of do a little... goofy one. And what you're playing here doesn't have the games you get to play, you haven't gotten to ride any of the rides yet, you haven't seen the finale yet, which is an odd finale. In a way, it's kind of like, you know how in the X-Files they have those one-off episodes?[br]

Shack: Yeah.[br]

Chet Faliszek
: We went a little goofy on this one.

Don’t worry Chet, we don’t think you make excuses. Just leave that to Doug, he’s become a master at doing that (even when it’s not required) instead of talking about the actual game itself… Classic PRing *rolls eyes*

I like that we aren’t being shown everything and I’m actually really interested to see what rides you go on throughout the journey. Be funny if the finale is something like a manic rollercoaster ride.

I'm glad they aren't showing everything too.

I'm not even looking at any playthroughs, just looking at the new infected, level names and locations.

Keeping them everything else for my first playthrough :) Looking forward to it.

Nice, some of their inspiration comes from X-Files monster of the week episodes.

Since I know we are not biased fansite, ahem, the L4D 2 boycott people were flown to Valve: http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/60383 I actually thought that would be the breaking point for the group. I mean they got to see that L4D is having stuff made for it still and L4D 2 is different from the original. So I'm just surprised they are going on now.

Gabe had a coffee accident it seems like. Some people also believe they have been brain washed by Valve! Valve are doing experiments on the human psychology and their games, hmmm... :O

The group's official charter demands that Valve release ongoing DLC for the original Left 4 Dead, convert Left 4 Dead 2 to a free update or an expansion, and give discounts for the sequel to Left 4 Dead owners.

I lost even more respect for the boycott group. They're just spoiled little brats.

well i dont really agree with the boycot group

but there are still so much bugs in the originial left 4 dead that valve should have fixed
but im looking really forward to l4d2 anyway

They invited two morons to Valve? What the ****, really. They look like idiots.

What? Mimaz still a little hurt by lack of Samon's approval?
