Shadow's from physics props are going through things. First they go through a static prop. Second they go through some geometry. Does geometry need to be a certain thickness to block shadows correctly? This counter is 4 units thick atm. Looked around couldn't find an answer to this.

Wall width does not determine if it blocks shadows. Any solid world brush will block shadows. Maybe you have a leak.

The crane magnets in HL2's coast levels cast shadows through solid objects, too. Did you notice?

The crane magnet is a model. Models will cast shadows through other models. The shadows from a model should not go through BSP.

Bah, my card can't run the source engine very well with shadows so I never noticed.

no you can block the shadows i have read about it somewhere i forget where i saw it... NO!!! lol ok i will go through all my references and i will hopefully have you guys an anwser. yuo will have to wait untill i finish work though :( Go away old ladies.... NO YOU DONT WANT A COMPUTER!!!

Yeah you can hack it in with shadow blocking brushes and whatnot, but you will always have problems with current source shadows.

So should I just let it be? I mean it's kinda odd and unrealistic looking. Erad if you find that stuff post it.
